Most influential person in my baseball life, besides my father, Jose, Cruz, Jr..: “Matt Fox who played at Rice University and professional ball for the Royals organization, my high school baseball coach, who pushed me to my limits and helped me become a much better player and person. Daily, he would check in with me, and ask how my swing feels and always give me the reps I needed before games and during practice. He explained how baseball is a tough game and you have to be tougher and smarter than your opponents. You must always overcome obstacles on and off the field.”
