Colin Kleven tossed seven scoreless to win both a game and Canadian Player of the Week honours, as the best of the 63 Canucks playing in the minors.
Kleven had an excellent start on May 14, picking up the win in a 4-1 Lakewood Blueclaws victory over Delmarva Shorebirds.
He pitched seven scoreless innings, giving up only four hits, while striking out seven Delmarva batters.
The 21-year-old Kamloops native improved his overall record for the season to 2-3 with a 3.58 ERA.
Kleven was selected in the 33rd round of the 2010 drafted. He pitched for the rookie-class Gulf Coast Phillies going 0-5 with a 7.04 ERA in 10 games, making seven starts. He walked 11 and struck out 22 in 30 2/3 innings.
Last year at class-A Williamsport, Kleven was 4-6, with a 4.84 ERA in 14 starts, walking 28 and fanning 42 in 67 innings.

Recently promoted by the Reds to double-A Pensacola, May 12, Lotzkar had his best outing so far for the Wahoos, when he defeated the Birmingham Barons 8-0. He tossed 6 1/3 scoreless innings, surrendering only two hits, while striking out six Barons hitters. The win improved his record with Pensacola to 1-1 with a 1.46 ERA and overall, including his stint with Single-A Bakersfield Blaze, his record is now 4-2 and a 2.12 ERA.

Jameson had an excellent outing on May 10 when he picked up the his second win of the season, in 16-3 victory over Clearwater Threshers. He threw six scoreless giving up six hits and striking out three batters. The win improved the young Pirates prospect’s over-all record to 2-2 with a 1.47 ERA.

For a thrid week in a row Avery has earned a spot on our weekly pitching highlights list. On May 12 he picked up his 5th win of the young season, when he defeated Altoona Curve 11-6, tossing five innings and giving up five hits and three runs while striking out five. This outing improved his overall record for the Seawolves to 5-2 with a 3.05 ERA.
