James Henderson was the best of the 114 Canucks in the minors and earned a promotion to the Milwaukee Brewers, making his debut Thursday in a scoreless inning against the Washington Nationals.

After 10 years in the minors, Henderson (Calgary, Alta.) is the 21st Canadian to appear on a major-league roster this season.

At triple-A Nashville Henderson appeared in four games earning a win and three saves.

He gained the 4-3 win against Round Rock working one inning, then gained the save with a hitless inning against New Orleans, closed out the next night allowing one hit and finally gave his third save of the week in a 4-1 win against Memphis. Henderson was 4-3, with an excellent 1.69 ERA and 15 saves at Nashville.

Henderson is the first Okotoks Dawgs member to make the majors and is a former CBN Pitcher of the Year, sharing 2009 honours with John Axford (Port Dover, Ont.)  with whom he now shares the same bullpen.
