On July 10th Kyle picked up his first win of the season in a 6-2 victory over South Bend Silver Hawks. He tossed six solid innings, giving up three  hits and two runs, while stirking out five.  His over-all record so far with Dayton is now  1-1 with a 5.74 ERA.

 

JAMES  AVERY  RHP  –   AA  CAROLINA  MUDCATS

Coming off the temporary inactive list, Avery had an impressive first start on July 11th when he beat Huntsville Stars 6-2.  He threw 5 2/3 innings, surrendering four hits and two runs.  He improved his over-all with the Mudcats to 5-8 and a 4.31 ERA.

Recently activated off the disabled list, Molleken had an excellent relief appearance on July 9th, a 5-4 victory over Corpus Christie Hooks. He threw two innings and gave up only one hit and zero runs to secure his second win of the season. His record with Tulsa is now 2-1, one save and a 7.78 ERA.

Another rookie picking up up his first win as a pro, on July 9th Cory pitched three solid innings in a 3-2 win over the Bristol Sox, giving up three hits and one run. It was his second appearance for Burlington so far this season, and his overall record is now 1-1 with a 12.71 ERA.

Continuing his fine season with the TinCaps, on July 13th Hardy earned his sixth win of the season when he beat Burlington Bees 3-2, with six very strong innings.  He gave up five hits, only two runs and struck out six in this game and improved his overall record with Ft. Wayne to 6-7 with a 2.66 ERA.

 

JOHN  MARIOTTI  RHP  –   IND  QUEBEC  CAPITALES

Mariotti  continues to excel in the Can Am League with the Capitales, and on July 12th secured his 4th win of the season in a 6-0 victory over the New Jersey Jackals.  In this game he surrendered only four hits, zero runs and struck out five Jackals.  His overall record with IND Quebec Capitales is now 4-0 with a 2.72 ERA.

The outfielder hit .429 (6-for-14) with three homers, four RBIs and seven runs scored for the double-A Northwest Arkansas Naturals (Royals) to earn honours as the best of the 115 Canadians in the minors. Romak was originally drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the fourth round in 2003.
