TORONTO BLUE JAYS

REPORTS TO:  Coordinator, Amateur Baseball
DEPARTMENT: Marketing
POSITION: Intern, Amateur Baseball

NATURE & SCOPE:

As a member of the Marketing Department of a Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise and for a large events stadium, this seasonal position is responsible for assisting with the planning and execution of the Blue Jays Amateur Baseball initiatives. Ideal candidates will have a passion for sport and the positive impact that it can have on both children and youth across Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with event and promotional activity set-up/tear down of Blue Jays Baseball Academy events such as Honda Super Camps, Honda Instructional Clinics, Tournament 12, and T12 Tryouts.

Process payments and refunds for Blue Jays Baseball Academy registrations.

Assist registration at Blue Jays Baseball Academy events.

Provide consistent and superior customer service with fans, parents, and children.

Main in office customer contact for the Blue Jays Baseball Academy. (Baseball Academy Hotline and Email)

Plan travel for all Blue Jays Baseball Academy Events

Responsible for the creation of travel itineraries for Blue Jays Baseball Academy staff and instructors

Act as a greeter/ambassador of the Toronto Blue Jays both within Rogers Centre and, as needed, in the community.

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Post-secondary education preferred in Marketing or Sports Management/Administration.
Knowledgeable of the Blue Jays and Blue Jays Baseball Academy programs is considered an asset.

Previous experience with coordinating events and programs would be a definite asset.
Strong PC Skills - Microsoft Office programs (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Photoshop.

Exceptional written and oral communication skill.

Knowledge of the game of baseball is an asset.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Ability and willingness to travel, work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Ability to lift and carry items up to 30 pounds.

Valid driver’s license.

Salary Grade: 1

Schedule: Full Time

Shift: Day

Length of Contract: 11 Months

Work Location: 1 Blue Jays Way (210), Toronto, ON

Travel Requirements: Up to 10%
