The Okotoks Dawgs have re-signed catcher Caleb Lumbard.

The team made the announcement on social media on Tuesday.

In 32 games with the Dawgs last summer, Lumbard (Regina, Sask.) hit .252 with a home run and 15 RBIs. He also walked 19 times and posted a strong .394 on-base percentage (OBP).

Defensively, he was excellent behind the plate, registering a .997 fielding percentage in 216 innings caught.

For his efforts, he was named the team’s True Grit Award winner.

In total, Lumbard has played parts of five seasons in the WCBL, beginning with his hometown Regina Red Sox in 2018.

The left-handed hitting catcher has also played for the Okanagan College Coyotes and in the U.S. college ranks at Mesa Community College (Mesa, Ariz.) and Texas Wesleyan University (Fort Worth, Texas).
