A look at past members of the Canadian Baseball Network all-Canadian college teams who were paid to play ball.

No one knows for sure what lies ahead for the members of our soon-to-be-announced 24th annual Canadian Baseball Network All-Canadian College team.
Whomever makes the All-Canadian college team — the best playing the majority of their schedule south of the border in the spring of 2023 — they will be carrying on a Canadian tradition: success at the college level which was an indicator of success at the pro level.
Looking back, here are the former all-Canadians — 222 in all — who have reached the next level, or are on their way to proceeding further down the road than most before retiring … how far they went and where they pitched or played in 2023:
It all started for OF Jason Bay (Trail, BC) and started off as part of out first Canadian Baseball Network all-Canadian college team.
OF Jason Bay (Trail, BC), of the Gonzaga Bulldogs, a Canadian Baseball Network first team All-Canadian in 2000, was drafted in the 22nd round by the Montreal Expos. He was the 2004 National League Rookie of the Year with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He signed a four-year, $60 million US deal with the New York Mets. Battling concussions, he was dealt to the Seattle Mariners, played 68 games with the Mariners before retiring after the 2013 season. Baseball Canada added Bay’s name to the Wall of Excellence in Ottawa, he was inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in St. Marys, Ont., in 2019 and his name has been attached to Butler Field in Trail, BC.
SS Shayne Ridley (Milton, Ont.), from the Ball State Cardinals, a Canadian Baseball Network first teamer in 2000, signed with the Baltimore Orioles for two seasons and one year in the Kansas City Royals system.
LHP Jordan Gerk (Kelowna, BC), of the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles, and a Canadian Baseball Network first teamer in 2000, pitched in the Detroit Tigers system.
3B Nom Siriveaw (Vancouver, BC), of the Oklahoma State Cowboys, a Canadian Baseball Network first teamer in 2000, signed with the Toronto Blue Jays, playing four seasons in the system.
RHP Rich Harden (Victoria, BC), of Central Arizona Vaqueros, earned Canadian Baseball Network first team honours in 2001. He pitched nine years in the majors with the Oakland A’s, Chicago Cubs and Texas Rangers.
2B John Cole (Kanata, Ont.) of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, a Canadian Baseball Network first-team selection in 2001, signed with the Mariners.
SS Lee Delfino (Pickering, Ont.), a Canadian Baseball Network first-team selection in 2001 with the East Carolina Pirates, signed with the Jays and now coaches sandlot ball for the FieldHouse Pirates.
OF Danny Gibbons (Toronto, Ont.) of the North Central Texas Lions, a Canadian Baseball Network first team selection in 2001 and a third team selection in 2002, signed with the A’s and played three seasons in their system.
OF Adam Stern (Port Stanley, Ont.), of the Nebraska Cornhuskers and a 2001 Canadian Baseball Network second-teamer, played 54 games in the majors for the Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Orioles and the Milwaukee Brewers. He runs the Great Lake Canadians.
RHP Chris Begg (Uxbridge, Ont.), of the Niagara Purple Eagles, a 2001 Canadian Baseball Network second teamer, pitched in the San Francisco Giants system. He now coaches and teaches at the Everest Academy.
RHP Steven Carter (Woodslee, Ont.), of the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, a Canadian Baseball Network second team selection in 2001 and in 2004, signed with Oakland. He went on to be a dominant force with the Windsor Stars.
OF Josh McCurdy (Thornhill, Ont.). of the Niagara Purple Eagles, a Canadian Baseball Network third team selection in 2001 and a first teamer in 2003, signed with the Baltimore Orioles.
LHP Jeff Francis (North Delta, BC), of the British Columbia Thunderbirds, proved you can stay near home and still go far, was a Canadian Baseball Network first-team All-Canadian selection in 2002. He was a first-round pick (ninth overall) in the draft and won 17 games for the Rockies. After starting the gold medal game for Canada in the Pan Am Game at Ajax in 2015, Francis retired. He now gives pitching instruction at Centre Field Sports in London, Ont. and coaches his son.
RHP John Ogiltree (Mississauga, Ont.) of the Martin Methodist Indians, a Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2001, was signed by the Jays. He is a coach for the Burlington Bulls.
RHP Judd Richardson (Caledon, Ont.), of the Miami Ohio RedHawks, a Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2001, signed a contract with the Brewers.
RP Jesse Crain (Toronto, Ont.), of the Houston Cougars, earned Canadian Baseball Network first-team honours as a closer in 2002 and a second team shortstop selection the same year. Crain pitched 10 years in the majors before retiring after the 2013 season.
RHP John Axford (Port Dover, Ont.), of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and then Mike McRae’s (Niagara Falls, Ont.) Canisius Golden Griffins, a Canadian Baseball Network second-team selection in 2002 and a third-team choice is 2003. He was dominant as the Milwaukee Brewers closer and then worked out of the Colorado Rockies bullpen and reached the World Series with the St. Louis Cardinals. He impressed as the hardest thrower at the Olympic qualifier, which earned him a spot in the bullpen at triple-A Buffalo and then a trade to the Milwaukee Brewers before an injury ended his season in 2021. He came out of retirement to pitch for Canada in the 2023 World Baseball Classic. He now coaches his son in Burlington.
C George Kottaras (Markham, Ont.), of the Connors State Cowboys, a Canadian Baseball Network second-teamer in 2002 and an honourable mention in 2003. He played in 313 games in the majors and spent 11 seasons in the minors before retiring after the 2016 season.
Team Ontario’s Hyung Cho (Scarborough, Ont.) was a first teamer in 2003.
3B Hyung Cho (Scarborough, Ont.), of the Houston Cougars, a Canadian Baseball Network third team selection in 2002 and a first teamer in 2003, went on to play two seasons in the Mariners system.
SS Aaron Hornostaj (Waterloo, Ont.), of the Connors State Cowboys, a Canadian Baseball Network third-team selection in 2002, was signed by the Giants and played seven seasons in their minor-league system before playing one year for Edmonton in the Golden League.
OF Matthew Stocco (Guelph, Ont.), of the Spartanburg Methodist Pioneers and a Canadian Baseball Network third team selection in 2002, played in the San Diego Padres organization. He coached with the Ontario Terriers.
C Russell Martin (Montreal, Que.), of the Chipola Indians, a Canadian Baseball Network 2002 honourable mention. After helping the Pittsburgh Pirates to back-to-back post-season appearances — their first since 1992, Martin signed a five-year $82 million deal with the Blue Jays. In 2015, he had his name added onto the Baseball Canada Wall of Excellence.
RHP Brooks McNiven (Vernon, BC), of the British Columbia Thunderbirds, a Canadian Baseball Network first teamer in 2003, signed with the Giants. He coaches with the North Shore Twins and is one of the more respected pitching gurus on the coast.
LHP Adam Loewen (Surrey, BC), of the Chipola Indians, a Canadian Baseball Network first teamer in 2003 as a pitcher and a third teamer as a DH, broke into the Baltimore Orioles rotation in 2005. An elbow injury meant a switch to the batter’s box, he made it back to the majors as a hitter with the Jays in 2011 and he was back again with the Philadelphia Phillies as a reliever in 2015. He came out of retirement to pitch for Canada in the WBC in March.
RP Ryan Braun (Kitchener, Ont.), of the Nevada-Las Vegas Hustlin’ Rebels, a Canadian Baseball Network first teamer in 2003, pitched in 35 games for the Kansas City Royals in 2006-07 after seven seasons in the minors.
OF Alex Borgo (Cookstown, Ont.), of the New Mexico State Aggies, a Canadian Baseball Network first teamer in 2003, signed with the Phillies and played one season in their organization.
LHP Drew Taylor (Toronto, Ont.), of the Michigan Wolverines, a Canadian Baseball Network second-team All-Canadian in 2003 also as earned honourable mention in 2005-06. He pitched in the Jays system, went to spring training with the Phillies and is now is a chip off the block ... a doctor, like his father Ron. He is currently one of the researchers working on the COVID-19 virus.
RP Cory Stuart (White Rock, BC), of the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds, a Canadian Baseball Network second team all-Canadian in 2003, went on to pitch four seasons in the New York Yankees system.
OF Christopher Emanuele (Mississauga, Ont.) of the Northeastern Huskies, a Canadian Baseball Network second team selection in 2003 and in 2005 and a first teamer in 2006, played in the Jays system for four years.
RP John Hurd — no relation to the legendary Toronto sandlot coach by the same name — (Fruitvale, BC), of the Southern Idaho Golden Eagles, was named to the Canadian Baseball Network third team in 2003, signed with the White Sox and pitched four seasons in the minors.
C Jake Elder (North Delta, BC), of the Minnesota Golden Gophers, was selected to the Canadian Baseball Network third team in 2003 and 2004, plus the second team in 2005, played in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization.
INF Emerson Frostad (Calgary, Alta.), of the Lewis-Clark State Warriors, named to the Canadian Baseball Network third team in 2003, reached triple-A Oklahoma City and retired after playing indy ball in the Can-Am League for the Trois-Rivieres Aigles.
INF Matt Rogelstad (Coquitlam, BC), of the Arkansas State Trojans, elected to the Canadian Baseball Network third team in 2003, spent time in the Washington Nationals system.
LHP Adam Daniels (North Vancouver, BC), of the Oklahoma State Cowboys, a Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2003, a third teamer in both 2004 and 2005, signed with the St. Louis Cardinals organization. He signed after being drafted a fifth time. He was selected in 2001 (27th round) by the Toronto Blue Jays; in 2002 by the Minnesota Twins (19th) from East Oklahoma State College, in 2003 by the Colorado Rockies (22nd) from East Oklahoma, in 2004 by the Chicago Cubs (43rd) from East Oklahoma and finally the Cardinals (15th) from Oklahoma State. He was in the Cardinals minor-league system for four years and then moved on to play three more years of Indy ball.
OF Reed Eastley (Brandon, Man.), of the Niagara Purple Eagles, named Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention to the 2003 all-Canadian team, a second teamer in 2004 and an honourable mention in 2005, signed with Seattle, playing three summers in the M’s system.
OF Sebastien Boucher (Ottawa, Ont.), of the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats, Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2003 and earned third-team honours in 2004, before turning pro with the Mariners, then playing with the Quebec Capitales and Ottawa Champions in the independent Can-Am League. His final at-bat came in 2018.
OF Jimmy Van Ostrand (North Delta BC), of the Alan Hancock Bulldogs and the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Mustangs, earned Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2003 and 2005 and was a third teamer in 2006. Van Ostrand played six seasons in the Houston Astros system and two in the Washington Nationals organization, retiring after the 2013 season. He is now the Blue Jays mental skills coach. He’s the one with the best-looking beard in the dugout.
RHP Jordan Thomson (Ottawa, Ont.), of the Northeastern Huskies, a Canadian Baseball Network first teamer in 2004, signed with San Francisco, playing one season, before moving on to Indy ball for two seasons, retiring after the 2007 season.
RP Robbie Findlay (Etobicoke, Ont.), of the Texas Christian Horned Frogs, earned Canadian Baseball Network first team All-Canadian honours in 2004 and turned pro with the Tampa Bay Devils Rays, pitching one season.
C Chris Robinson (Dorchester, Ont.), of the Illinois Fighting Illini, a Canadian Baseball Network first teamer in 2004 and 2005, was drafted by the Detroit Tigers and made the majors with the San Diego Padres. Robinson coaches the Great Lake Canadians.
RHP John Mariotti (Toronto, Ont.), of the Gulf Coast Commodores and the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, was voted to the Canadian Baseball Network first team in 2004 and earned honourable mention in 2005, 2006 and 2007. He now instructs with the FieldHouse Pirates.
SS Jonathan Malo (St-Roch-de-l’Achigan, Que.) of the Northeastern Oklahoma A & M Golden Norse, a Canadian Baseball Network first teamer in 2004 played in the New York Mets system, starred with Quebec and was in the 2019 lineup, but did not play in 2020.
LHP R.J. Swindle (Vancouver, BC), of the Charleston Southern Buccaneers, a Canadian Baseball Network first teamer in 2004 and third teamer in 2004, was drafted by the Boston Red Sox, pitched nine years in the minors and made the majors for nine games with the Phillies and the Brewers.
RHP Chris Leroux (Mississauga, Ont.), of the Winthrop Eagles, a third teamer in 2004, pitched parts of six seasons in the majors and another 10 in the minors. In 2020, he was on the mound for the Toronto Maple Leafs as well as pitching for Team Canada. Leroux is back on The Fan’s providing Blue Jays coverage with Ben Wagner.
RHP James Avery (Moose Jaw, Sask.), of the Niagara Purple Eagles, a Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2004, was a first teamer in 2005. He pitched in the Tigers system, before heading to Mexico and then retired.
RP Jason Blackey (Duncan, BC), of the North Central Texas Lions, gained Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2004, then pitched four seasons n the Boston Red Sox system.
C Mike Nickeas (Vancouver, BC), of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, received Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2004, reached triple-A Buffalo, in the Blue Jays system. He was an assistant coach with Georgia Tech in 2019, where he went to school and is now an agent, working for CAA Sports LLC.
SS Steven Condotta (Mississauga, Ont.), of the Florida Tech Panthers, earned Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention honours in 2004 and 2005 and was a first teamer in 2006 and 2007, before signing with the Jays and playing two years.
OF Jon Baksh (Mississauga, Ont.), of Florida Tech Panthers, Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2004, was a first teamer in 2005 and 2006. He was drafted and signed with the Jays, playing four seasons in the minors.
1B Jared Schweitzer (Lethbridge, Alta.), of the Kansas Jayhawks, earned Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2004, made the second team in 2005 and in 2006. He turned pro with the St. Louis Cardinals and played two seasons.
Ex-Ontario Blue Jay OF Tim Smith (Toronto, Ont.) earned a berth on the Canadian Baseball Netwiork three times.
OF Tim Smith (Toronto, Ont.), of the Midland Chaparrals, a Canadian Baseball Network first teamer in 2005 and 2006 and a second team selection in 2007, signed with Texas. He played in the Braves, Rangers and Royals systems, retiring after the 2015 season with Quebec in the Can Am loop. He is a coach with the Ontario Blue Jays.
DH Mike Gosse (Pitt Meadows, BC), of the Oklahoma Sooners, was Canadian Baseball Network Player of the year in 2008, after being a Canadian Baseball Network first teamer in 2005 and 2006 with the New Mexico Thunderbirds. Drafted and signed with the Tigers, he played three seasons, including hitting over .300 at triple-A Toldeo. He retired after 2010.
RHP Henry Mabee (Victoria, BC), a Canadian Baseball Network second teamer in 2005 with the Truman State Trojans, was drafted by the White Sox and reached Double-A Birmingham, during his seven seasons in the minors.
RHP Scott Richmond (North Vancouver, BC), of the Oklahoma State Cowboys, a Canadian Baseball Network third teamer in 2005, pitched for the Blue Jays. In 2019 he pitched in the independent Atlantic League. He did not pitch in 2020.
SS Taylor Green (Courtenay, BC), of the Cypress Chargers, a Canadian Baseball Network third team choice in 2005 and an honourable mention in 2006, appearing in 78 games with the Milwaukee Brewers. He retired after his ninth season in the organization and was hired by the Brewers and is now an assistant director of scouting/international player development. One of his first jobs was recognizing talent and hiring Peter Orr (Newmarket, Ont.) to scout.
RP Chris Toneguzzi (Thunder Bay, Ont.), of the Purdue Boilermakers, a Canadian Baseball Network third teamer in 2005 and a second teamer in 2006, signed with the Brewers, pitching two seasons.
OF Brad McElroy (London Ont.), of the Charlotte ‘49ers, a Canadian Baseball Network first teamer in 2007, gained second teamer honors in both 2008 and 2006 and was a third teamer in 2005. He reached double-A New Hampshire in 2012 and retired.
LHP Scott Diamond (Guelph, Ont.), of the Binghamton Bearcats, Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2005 and 2006. He pitched with the Minnesota Twins, spending four seasons in the majors making 58 starts. He was with SK Wyverns in Hangul, South Korea, retiring after the 2017 season.
RP Chris Kissock (Fruitvale, BC), of the Lewis-Clark State Warriors, a Canadian Baseball Network second teamer in 2005 and 2006 as well as a first teamer in 2007, was drafted and pitched in the Phillies organization for six seasons. He retired after pitching four seasons in Indy ball.
RHP Matt Kniginyzky (Mississauga, Ont.), of the High Point Panthers, Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2005, pitched at Double-A Northwest Arkansas, the best of his five minor-league seasons. He also pitched a year of Indy ball.
Former Mississauga Majors RHP Jamie Richmond (Mississauga, Ont.) was a Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2005,
RHP Jamie Richmond (Mississauga, Ont.), of the Texarkana Bulldogs, Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2005, was signed by the Braves, earned class-A Appalachian League pitcher of the year (Travis Snider won top hitter honours at Pulaski) and then pitched Indy ball until 2012.
C Cole Armstrong (Surrey, BC), of the Central Missouri State Mules, Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2005, caught in the Miami Marlins system. After coaching in the Chicago White Sox system in 2019. He now helps runs the new Webber Academy Wildcats program outside of Calgary.
C Joel Collins (Richmond Hill, Ont.), of the South Alabama Jaguars, Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2005, a third teamer in 2006 and 2007, signed with the Blue Jays, played in the Pirates and Giants organizations, retiring after 2011.
1B Jordan Lennerton (Langley, BC), of the El Paso Tejanos, was named Canadian Baseball Network second team all-Canadian in 2006 and a third teamer in 2007, signed with the Tigers. He was honoured by the Quebec Capitales in 2018 for his long service.
3B Devery Van De Keere (Barrhead, Alta.), of the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns, Canadian Baseball Network second team all-Canadian in 2006, signed with Kansas City. Van De Keere played two years in the minors and then in Europe.
SS David Cooper (Edmonton, Alta.), of the Mount Olive Trojans, a Canadian Baseball Network third teamer in 2008, a second teamer in 2006 and a third team member in 2007, signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks, played Indy ball and retired after the 2013 season.
OF-SS Marcel Champagnie (Bolton, Ont.), of the Arizona State Sun Devils, a Canadian Baseball Network second teamer in 2008, and a second team All-Canadian in 2007 and earned Third Team honours in 2006 at Kaskaskia Blue Devils, played two years in the Los Angeles Angels organization and two in Indy ball, retiring after 2015.
OF Rene Tosoni (Port Coquitlam BC), of the Chipola Indians, a Canadian Baseball Network third teamer in 2006, signed with the Minnesota Twins and player in their organization for seven seasons, winning MVP honours in the Futures Game. He spent four seasons playing Indy ball with 2016 for the Sugar Land Skeeters being his final year. He now scouts for the Toronto Blue Jays.
LHP Kai Tuomi (Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.), of the Evansville Purple Aces, Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2006 and 2007, signed with the Nationals and pitched two seasons in the organization before moving on to pitch two seasons of Indy ball.
RHP Derek McDaid (Barrie, Ont.), of the Charlotte ‘49ers, Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2006, signed with the Padres, pitched three seasons before moving on to pitch two more with at Quebec.
RHP Brad Cuthbertson (Sherwood Park, Alta.), of the Midland Chaparrals, Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2006, signed with the Jays and pitched two seasons.
RHP Aaron Cotter (South Slocan, BC), of the Arkansas Monticello Boll Weevils gained Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention.
RHP Aaron Cotter (South Slocan, BC), of the Arkansas Monticello Boll Weevils, Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention to the all-Canadian team in 2006, signed with the Mariners, pitched in their system for three seasons, including a stint at triple-A and three years of Indy ball.
1B Brock Kjeldgaard (London, Ont.), of the Indian Hills Falcons, Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention to the all-Canadian team in 2006 as a pitcher and as a first baseman. He played for nine seasons in the Brewers organization before three years of Indy ball. Kjeldgaard is a Great Lakes Canadians coach.
RHP Trystan Magnuson (Vancouver, BC), a Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2006 and a first-team selection in 2007, of the Louisville Cardinals, was drafted by the Blue Jays. He pitched nine games with Oakland and spent six seasons in the minors, retiring following the 2013 season.
LHP Andrew Albers (North Battleford, Sask.) Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2006 and 2007, plus a first teamer in 2008 with the Kentucky Wildcats, signed with the Padres, injured his arm, pitched in Quebec, signed with the Twins, and joined the Twins rotation to have back-to-back scoreless outings in 2013. He pitched for the Orix Buffaloes, triple-A St. Paul and the Twins. He came out of retirement to pitch for Canada in the 2023 WBC in Phoenix.
C Lars Davis (Grand Prairie, Alta.), of the Illinois Fighting Illini, Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2006 and a first teamer in 2007, was drafted by the Colorado Rockies. He spent one season with triple-A LeHigh Valley in the Phillies system. He is a volunteer assistant coach with the Florida Gators.
1B Mitch MacDonald (Regina, Sask.), of the Monterrey Peninsula Lobos, Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention to the 2006 and second team all-Canadian in 2007, signed with the Marlins and played two seasons.
RP Tom Boleska (Burlington, Ont.), of the High Point Panthers, was Canadian Baseball Network second team all-Canadian in 2007, and drafted by the Pirates pitching six seasons for the Bucs and Orioles farm clubs. He also was on the mound for two seasons in Indy ball, retiring after 2013.
2B Skyler Stromsmoe (Bow Island, Alta.), of the Southern Arkansas Muleriders, earned Canadian Baseball Network third-team all-Canadian in 2007, signed with San Francisco reached triple-A Sacramento and scored the game-tying run in the 10th inning of the gold medal game at the Pan Ams before retiring after the 2015 season. In all, he spent nine seasons in the Giants system.
2B Kevin Mailloux (Windsor, Ont.) of the Canisius Golden Griffins, a Canadian Baseball Network first team All-Canadian in 2009, 2008 and 2006 and a second teamer in 2005, was drafted by the Mariners and played two years in their system.
RHP David Francis (Mississauga, Ont.), of the Walters State Govenors, a Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2007 and a first teamer in 2008, was in the Atlanta system for three years and then pitched Indy ball for three more.
SS Terrance Dayleg (Surrey, BC), of the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, a Canadian Baseball Network first team All-Canadian in 2008 and an honourable mention in 2007 and 2009, was drafted by the Marlins and reached double-A Jacksonville. He played seven seasons in the Marlins system, retiring after 2015.
SS David Narodowski (Vancouver, BC), a Canadian Baseball Network first teamer with the Kansas Jayhawks in 2009 and second teamer with of the Vernon Chaparrals in 2008, was drafted and signed by the Diamondbacks. He spent three seasons with Arizona before playing one year of Indy ball, packing it in after the 2012 season.
3B Randy Schwartz (Kleinburg, Ont.), of the High Point Panthers, a Canadian Baseball Network second teamer in 2008 and honourable mention in 2007, played in the Jays system for three seasons.

LHP James Paxton (Ladner, BC) of the Kentucky Wildcats was a First Team Canadian Baseball Network member in 2009 and earned Third Team honors in 2008. Paxton was drafted by the Blue Jays, but Toronto was unable to sign him. He was the Yankees best starter in 2019 -- 15-6 in 29 starts with a 3.82 ERA, 186 strike outs in 150 2/3 innings -- and pitchied only one game in the Boston Red Sox organization in 2022. Then, he battled back to make 19 starts upping his career won-loss record to 6-438 (.627).

INF Eric Wood (Pickering, Ont.) of the Blinn Broncos, earned Canadian Baseball Network third team honours in 2012. He was the top Canuck drafted in 2012 going to the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played at triple-A Indianapolis Indians in 2019 and was with the Winnipeg Goldeyes in 2020, before retiring.
RHP Jeff Gibbs (East York, Ont.) of University of Maine Black Bears, earned Canadian Baseball Network third team honours in 2011 and second team in 2010. The Arizona Diamondbacks selected Gibbs in the ninth round. He pitched in the Diamondbacks system for two seasons.
LHP David Otterman (Coquitlam, BC) University of British Columbia Thunderbirds, took Canadian Baseball Network first team honours in 2012. Otterman was the second overall Canuck chosen going to the Brewers. He pitched two seasons in the Milwaukee system.
INF Maxx Tissenbaum (Toronto Ont.) of the Stony Brook Sea Wolves, named the Canadian Baseball Network Player of the Year and a First teamer in 2012 and honourable mention in 2011 and 2010. The Padres chose Tissenbaum and he spent five seasons with Tampa Bay and the Marlins. Later he played three seasons for Quebec.
OF Tyler Hollick (Calgary, Alta.) of Chandler-Gilbert, earned Canadian Baseball Network first team honours in 2012 and honourable mention in 2011. Hollick was chosen by the San Francisco and played three seasons in the Giants system, He runs the successful Okotoks Dawgs program.
INF Keaton Briscoe (North Vancouver BC) of the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds, took Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention honours in 2011 and 2010. Boston selected Briscoe and he played two seasons in the Red Sox organization.
RHP Jasvir Rakkar (Brampton, Ont.) of the Stony Brook University Sea Wolves, earned Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2012. The reliever went to the Chicago Cubs in the draft and played four seasons in the Cubs system before moving on to one year of Indy ball. He helped Canada win gold at the 2015 Pan-Am in Ajax.

He was chosen by the Cubs in the second round and earned a World Series ring in 2016. This season he was with Canada’s WBC entry and gain an opening day win for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
RHP Nick Pivetta (Victoria, BC) of the New Mexico JC Thunderbirds, earned Canadian Baseball Network third team honours in 2013. He was chosen by the Nationals in the fourth round. In 2014 he earned Canadian Baseball Network Canadian Minor League Pitcher of the Year. In 2023, Pivetta was 9-9 with a 4.56 ERA in 35 games — 13 starts — with 160 strikeouts in 120 1/3 innings.
RHP Andrew Cooper (Belle River, Ont.) of the Sierra Wolverines, earned Canadian Baseball Network first team honours in 2013. He was selected in the 11th round by the Nationals and pitched three seasons in the Washington system. He was with the Can-Am’s Ottawa Champions and did not pitch in 2020.

Drafted by the Astros, where he played five seasons in the Astros organization. He played another year in Indy ball. In 2019, he pitched for the Lotte Giants and SK Wyverns in South Korea. This season, Dykxhoorn was 7-7 with a 3.18 ERA in 20 starts.for the Uni President 7-Eleven Lions in Chinese Professional League Taiwan.

He was selected by Toronto in 2014 from Oral Roberts University after pitching for the Ontario Blue Jays. In 2023, Romano was 5-7 with 36 saves in 40 chances (90%) with a 2.90 ERA. He struck out 72 in 59 innings.
C Jordan Procyshen (Calgary, Alta.) of the Northern Kentucky Norse, earned Canadian Baseball Network second team honours in 2014, first team in 2013 and honourable mention in 2012. The 2023 season with his 10th as part of the Red Sox, Dodgers and Rangers organizations. This year he was in the Texas system, splitting time time triple-A Round Rock and double-A Frisco, playing 28 games in the Rangers’ system. He hit .250 with five doubles, a homer, 12 RBIs and a .708 OPS.

LHP Ryan Kellogg (Whitby, Ont.) of the Arizona State Sun Devils. He earned Canadian Baseball Network First Team and Player of the Year honours in 2013, as well as being a Canadian Baseball Network First team honoree in 2014 and Second Team honoree in 2015. He was drafted in the fifth round in 2015. After six seasons in affiliated ball, he pitched for the Indy Kentucky Wild Health Genomes in 2022 and this season was a member of the barn-storming Savannah Bannanas, the game’s Harlem Globetrotters.
OF-1B Connor Panas (Toronto Ont.) Canisius Golden Griffins. Panas was the Canadian Baseball Network Player of the Year in 2015 and earned First Team honours as he did in 2014 to go with Honorable Mention in 2012-13. He was drafted in the ninth round by the Blue Jays and played three seasons in the system. In 2023, Panas played 87 games with the Lincoln Saltdogs in the independent American Association. He batted .296 with 16 doubles, 22 homers and 59 RBIs. He had a .911 OPS and was 12-for-14 stealing bases.
RHP Devon Stewart (Maple Ridge, BC) of Canisius. He picked up Canadian Baseball Network Third Team honors in 2015 and was a Canadian Baseball Network Honourable Mention in 2012. Stewart was a ninth round selection of the Indians and pitched two seasons in the Cleveland organization.
C Owen Spiwak (Mississauga, Ont.) of the Odessa Wranglers. Spiwak earned Canadian Baseball Network Second Team honours in 2015. He was selected in the 10th round by the Blue Jays and played four seasons in the Toronto system. He helps run Mike Irving’s Batter Up camps.

RP Reign Letkeman (Red Deer, Alta.) Big Bend Runnin’ Vikes. He gained Honourable Mention honours on the Canadian Baseball Network 2014 team. Letkeman was selected in the 23rd round by the Rays and pitched three seasons in the Tampa Bay system. He was with the Gateway Grizzlies of the independent Frontier loop in 2019 and now is an assistant coach at Bend.
OF Philip Diedrick (Ajax, Ont.) Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, He earned Canadian Baseball Network Honourable Mention in 2014. The Washington Nationals chose him in the 29th round, he played one season in the Nationals organization.

He was on the Canadian Baseball Network Second Team in 2014, the Third Team in 2015 and had Honourable Mention in 2012. INF Daniel Pinero (Toronto, Ont.) Virginia Cavillers. He earned Canadian Baseball Network First Team honors in 2015 and Canadian Baseball Network 2014 Second Team honors. He was chosen by the Detroit Tigers in the 36th round in 2015, the ninth round by Detroit in 2016. He spent 2019 with the Double A Erie SeaWolves and the Triple A Toledo Mud Hens. He excelled for Canada during the 2021 Olympic qualifier against the Dominican Republic and then retired.
INF Mattingly Romanin (Burlington, Ont.) Chicago State Cougars, earned Canadian Baseball Network Honourable Mention in 2014-15. The Toronto Blue Jays chose him in the 39th round in 2015, and he played in the organization three seasons. He played his final year in Quebec. His pop, Mal Romanin was one of the most respected members of the Blue Jays P.R. office. Mattingly played for the Welland Jackfish in the Intercounty loop.
RHP Cal Quantrill (Port Hope, Ont.) of the Stanford Cardinal, earned Canadian Baseball Network First Team honours in 2014. He was drafted by the San Diego Padres eighth overall in 2016. Quantrill was part of a six-player package the Padres sent to Cleveland in 2020, which included 1B Josh Naylor (Mississauga, Ont.). Injuries restricted Quantrill this season to 19 starts -- after making 32 in 2022. He was 4-7 with a 5.24 ERA, striking out 58 in 99 2/3 innings with the Guardians.
RHP Curtis Taylor (Port Coquitlam, BC) of the UBC Thunderbirds earned earned Canadian Baseball Network First Team honors in 2015. Drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the fourth round, he pitched two seasons in the DBacks system In his eighth year of affiliated ball -- pitching in Diamondbacks, Tampa Bay Rays, toronto Blue Jays, Washington Nationals, Minnesota Twins and Chicago Cubs. This season, he was 2-5 with two saves and a 4.53 ERA. He appeared in 35 games with double-A Wichita, triple-A St. Paul and triple-A Iowa in the Twins and Cubs organizations. He struck out 54 in 47 2/3 innings.
OF Jacob Robson (Windsor, Ont.) of the Mississippi State Bulldogs earned Canadian Baseball Network Second Team honors in 2015. He was chosen by the Detroit Tigers in the eighth round in 2016 . He was released by the Tigers after spending part of the season with triple-A Toledo . This season with the Kansas City Moncarchs of the independent American Association he hit .250 with 10 homers, 31 RBIs and an .868 OPS in 69 games.
1B Bruce Yari (Waterloo, Ont.) of the UBC Thunderbirds received honourable mention honors on the Canadian Baseball Network 2015 All-Canadian team. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds and played with class-A Dayton Tortugas in 2019.
OF Toby Handley (Whitby, Ont.) of the Stony Brook Seawolves, received honourable mention honours on the Canadian Baseball Network 2015 and 2017 All-Canadian team. He was drafted by the Houston Astros but did not sign.
RHP Zach Pop of Kentucky earned Canadian Baseball Network 2015-16 All-Canadian team honourable mention. He was drafted by the Dodgers and impressed both the Dodgers and the Baltimore Orioles. Pop was included in the Manny Machado deal, went to the Marlins in the Rule V draft and was acquired by the Toronto Blue Jays. Pop and Jordan Romano combined for the first game where a Canadian gained both the win and the save on Oct, 2, 2022. In 2023, Pop was 1-1 in 15 games with the Blue Jays with a 6.59 ERA. After an injury, he was demoted to triple-A Buffalo where he was 1-2 with a 5.51 ERA in 31 games and he struck out 32 in 32 1/3 innings.
1B Jared Young (Prince George, BC) of Old Dominion, earned Canadian Baseball Network All-Canadian team First Team honours in 2017 and Second Team honours in 2016. In 2023, Young chose to play for Canada in the WBC. In this his sixth season of pro ball he batted .310 at triple-A Iowa in 90 games with 21 homers, 72 RBIs and a .995 OPS. He also spent 16 games with the Cubs batting .196 with three triples, two homers, eight RBIs and a .720 OPS.
OF Raphaël Gladu (Trois-Riviéres, Que.) of Louisiana Tech earned Canadian Baseball Network Second Team honours after being All-Canadian team honourable mention honours 2014-15-16. He was drafted by the New York Mets. He had eight homers and 60 RBIs, while batting .307 in 90 games for Trois-Rivieres.
INF Abraham Toro-Hernandez (Greenfield Park, Que.) Seminole State Trojans, earned Canadian Baseball Network All-Canadian team Second Team honours in 2016. He was selected in the fifth round by the Houston Astros. With seven seasons under his belt, in 2023 spent 96 games with triple-A Nashville, who hit .291 with eight homers, 58 RBIs and an .845 OPS. He was promoted to the Milwaukee Brewers for nine games batting .444 with two RBIs and a 1.302 OPS.
OF Tanner Kirwer (Sherwood Park, Alta.) of Niagara University earned Canadian Baseball Network All-Canadian team honourable mention honours in 2015 and in 2017. He was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 20th round. In 2023, Kirwer hit .232 in 58 games at double-A Arkansas where he had three homers, 20 RBIs and a .659 OPS. After being promoted to triple-A Tacoma, he batted .115 with one RBI in nine games.
RHP Christian Lindsay-Young (Oakville, Ont.) of the Niagara County Thunderbirds earned Canadian Baseball Network All-Canadian Third Team honours in 2016 and 2017. He did not sign and transferred to West Virginia University. In 2023, in his third year with the Milwaukee Milkmen of the independent American Association, he made 18 starts going 7-6 with a 3.91 ERA as he struck out 110 in 94 1/3 innings.
3B J.D. Osborne (Whitby, Ont.) of the Tampa Spartans earned Canadian Baseball Network 2016 All-Canadian team Second Team honours and an All-Canadian First Teamer in 2017. He was drafted by the Miami Marlins. In 2023, Osborne played in 47 games, splitting time between the Kane County Cougars of the independent American Association and the Lexington Counter Clocks of the independent Atlantic League. He combined to hit .292 with three homers, 20 RBIs and an .833 OPS.
INF Louis Boyd (North Vancouver, BC) of Cochise College earned Canadian Baseball Network All-Canadian team honourable mention honours in 2014-15. He was drafted by the Mariners and played two seasons in the organization. In 2019 and 2021 he managed class-A Everett Aquasox.
2B Jake Lumley (Windsor, Ont.) of the Canisius Golden Griffs earned Canadian Baseball Network 2016 All-Canadian team Second Team honours and Honourable Mention in 2015 and 2017. He was drafted by the Oakland Athletics and scout Matt Higginson. His retired after the 2018 season.
RHP Noah Gapp (St. Albert, Alta.) of the Cumberlands Patriots, a 2017 Canadian Baseball Network All-Canadian team First Teamer, pitched for the Ottawa Champions of the indy Can-Am Legue for two seasons, retiring after 2018.
OF Tristan Pompey (Mississauga, Ont.) of the Kentucky Wildcats, a Canadian Baseball Network All-Canadian team First Teamer in 2017 and 2018 as well as Honourable Mention honours in 2016, was drafted by the Miami Marlins. He split Indy time between the Quebec Capitales and the Winnipeg Goldeyes in 2021, played for the Guelph Royals in 2022 and became a police officer in Hamilton in 2023.
OF Jonathan Lacroix (Montreal, Que.) of the Seminole State Trojans, was a 2017 Canadian Baseball Network All-Canadian team First Teamer. In 2023, he hit .229 with eight RBIs and a .658 OPS in 118 games for the Quebec Capitales in the independent Frontier League.
OF Eric Senior (Toronto, Ont.) of the Midland Chaparrals, was a 2017 Canadian Baseball Network All-Canadian team Second Teamer. He was a 13th round pick of thr Washington Nationals — became the first Canuck the Nats have ever given a six-figure bonus — and played three seasons until 2019.
2B David Glaude (Quebec City, Que.) of the Missouri Western State Griffons, was a 2017 Canadian Baseball Network All-Canadian team First Teamer, after earning First Team honours in 2016 and Third Team honours in 2015. In 2023, Glaude batted .322, leading the Quebec Capitales of the independent Frontier League both in stolen bases (27) and hits (117). He also had 16 homers, 60 RBIs and a .917 OPS.
RHP Kyle Thomas (Mississauga, Ont.) of the Northwestern Ohio Racers was a 2017 Canadian Baseball Network All-Canadian team Third Teamer. He was drafted by Detroit. In 2022, he pitched indy ball for Trois-Rivieres in the Frontier League, but did not return in 2023.
RHP Jordan Scheftz (North York, Ont.) Central Florida Knights, earned 2017 Canadian Baseball Network All-Canadian team Honourable Mention. He pitched three seasons in the Cleveland system and then retired.
C-1B Kole Cottam (Knoxville, Tenn.) earned 2017 Canadian Baseball Network All-Canadian team Honourable Mention both behind the plate and at DH. And was a Canadian Baseball Network first teamer the next year. He was selected in the fourth round by the round Boston Red Sox in 2018. He spent four seasons in the Red Sox systm. In 2023, he hit 30 homers for the Spire City Ghost Hounds of the independent Atlantic League. He also had 24 doubles, 75 RBIs and a .954 OPS in 113 games.
3B Mitch Robinson (Surrey, BC) of the University British Columba Thunderbirds earned Canadian Baseball Network All-Canadian Honourable Mention in 2017-18 He was drafted in the 21st round by the New York Yankees and in his second pro season In 2019, he pitched for class-A Staten Island Yankees and class-A Charleston RiverDogs before retiring.
LHP Ben Onyshko (Winnipeg, Man.) of the Stetson Hatters, earned Canadian Baseball Network All-Canadian team Third Team honours in 2017 and Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2018. He was selected in the 24th round by the Seattle Mariners. In 2023, the lefty pitched for the double-A Arkansas Travellers where he was 1-1 with a 5.21 ERA, fanning 45 in 48 1/3 innings.

LHP J.P. Stevenson (New Glasgow, PEI) of the Canisius Golden Griffs was an Canadian Baseball Network First Teamer in 2017 and 2018. He was not drafted, signed with Quebec and in 2019, pitched for the Dohren Wild Farmers in Germany.
RHP RJ Freure (Burlington, Ont.) of the Pitt Panthers was a Canadian Baseball Network First Teamer in 2018. Drafted in the sixth round by the Astros. This season with the independent American Association Lincoln Saltdogs, he was 5-2 with two saves and a 2.96 ERA in 33 games. He walked 37 and struck out 99 in 48 2/3 innings.
LHP Erik Sabrowski (Edmonton, Alta.) of the St. Cloud T-Birds, was a Canadian Baseball Network third teamer as a lefty and a second teamer as a DH in 2018. Drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 14th round, Sabrowski missed all of 2019 as he was recovering from Tommy John surgery. In 2023, he was 4-0 with a 2.49 ERA in 20 games at double-A Akron, where he struck out 28 in 21 2/3 innings.
1B Kyle MacDonald (Mississauga, Ont.) of Arkansas State Red Wolves, a Canadian Baseball Network third teamer in 2018, as well earning honourable mention in 2016-17 and 2019, was drafted in the 27th round by the Yankees. After two seasons he has not played since 2021.
RHP Brandon Marklund (North Vancouver, BC) of the Bryan Lions, was a Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2018. An undrafted free agent, he signed with the Royals and in 2019 he pitched at class-A Lexington. He has not pitched since.
Coquitlam Reds grad Indigo Diaz (Vancouver, BC) pitched at Michigan State and Iowa Western. He was First Teamer in 2018.
RHP Indigo Diaz (Vancouver, BC) of the Iowa Western Reivers, earned Canadian Baseball Network 2018 First Team honours. The Atlanta Braves selected Diaz from the Michigan State Spartans in 2019. In 2023, Diaz was 1-1 with three saves and a 4.26 ERA in 23 games. He whiffed 43 in 31 2/3 innings splitting his time between double-A Somerset and class-A Hudson Valley.
LHP Ryan Johnson (Winnipeg, Man.) of the Lubbock Christian Chaps, earned Canadian Baseball Network Player of the Year for 2019 and also a berth on the first team. In 2023, he was a double duty man: going 4-4, with a 3.15 ERA and hit .371, with six homers and 41 RBIs for Trebec Nuclears in the Czech Republic Extraliga.
RHP Matt Brash (Kingston, Ont. -- Canada’s first capital) Niagara Purple Eagles, earned Canadian Baseball Network First Team honors in 2019 and was selected in the fourth round by the San Diego Padres. At Tacoma, he had an 0-1 record with hree saves and a 3.46 ERA striking out 41 in 26 innings. With the M’s he was 4-4 and a 4.44 ERA fanning 41 in 26 innings.
1B Matt Lloyd (Okotoks, Alta.) Indiana Hooisers, earned Canadian Baseball Network all-Canadian team First Team honours at DH in 2016 and 2017 to go with his First Team honors in 2019. Plus, he was a Third Team member in 2018. He was chosen in the 15th round by the Cincinnati Reds. With the Chattanooga Lookouts, he hit .187 with two homers and 14 RBIs.
2B Edouard Julien (Quebec City, Que.) of the Auburn Tigers, earned First Team honours for the Canadian Baseball Network 2019 all-Canadian team. Julien earned Canadian Baseball Network Player of the Year in 2018 and was honoured as First Team at the DH spot. The Minnesota Twins chose Julien in the 18th round. In 2022, In 2023, Julien was one of the better Canuck performers with RP Jordan Romano (Markham, Ont.), 1B Josh Naylor (Mississauga, Ont.) and Matt Brash (Kingston, Ont.).
OF Jake Sanford (Cole Harbour, NS) Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, earned First Team honors for the Canadian Baseball Network 2019 all-Canadian team as a position player and honourable mention as a DH. As well Sanford earned Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention in 2018. He was selected by the New York Yankees in the third round. He started the 2023 season with the Sioux City Explorers of the independent American Association where he hit .213 with two homers, 22 RBIs and a .570 OPS in 47 games. He then moved on to the Ottawa Titans of the Frontier League hitting .271 with two homers, 18 RBIS and a .710 OPS in 30 games.
LHP Niall Windeler (Toronto, Ont.) of the British Columbia Thunderbirds, gained First Team honors for the Canadian Baseball Network 2019 all-Canadian team. He earned Canadian Baseball Network honourable Mention in 2017. The Twins selected him in the 19th round. He posted a 4.91 ERA in 10 appearances with the Twins’ Gulf Coast League club in 2019 and retired after that.
RP Tanner Jesson-Dalton (Lethbridge, Alta.) of the Sacramento State Hornets, earned Second Team honors for the Canadian Baseball Network 2019 all-Canadian team. Dalton earned Canadian Baseball Network all-Canadian college Third Team honours in 2018. In 2023 with the Quebec Capitales in the Frontier League, he was 2-0 with a 5.31 ERA. He struck out 48 in 40 2/3 innings.
OF Noah Myers (Wyoming, Ont.) of the Wabash Valley Warriors, was a 2019 Canadian Baseball Network Second Teamer. Myers was chosen in the 30th round by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2019. In 2023, with the Evansville Otters of the independent Frontier League, he hit .322 with 18 homers and 58 RBIs in 93 games. He had a 1.005 OPS and was 41-for-44 stealing bases.
RHP Logan Hofmann (Muenster, Sask.) of the Colby Trojans, gained a spot on the Second Team of the 2019 Canadian Baseball Network all-Canadian team. The St. Louis Cardinals chose Hofmann in the 35th round. He did not sign and then was chosen in the fifth round of the 2020 draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates.In 2023, he started at class-A Greensboro and was 1-0 in 10 games with a 12.27 ERA. He struck out six in 11 innings. Then he was the Trois-Rivieres Aigles on the independent Frontier League where he had a 7.24 ERA, striking out 12 in 13 2/3 innings.
SS Trei Cruz (Houston, Tex.) of the Rice Owls, won a spot on the 2019 Canadian Baseball Network Second Team. The son of former Toronto Blue Jays OF Jose Cruz, Trei was born in Toronto. Cruz was selected in the 37th round by the Washington Nationals. He did not sign, but was then taken in the third round of the 2020 draft by the Detroit Tigers. In 2023, Cruz batted .214 at double-A Erie in 120 games with 14 homers, 53 RBIs and a .706 OPS.
RHP Trevor Brigden (Toronto, Ont.) of the Okanogan Coyotes, was named to the Canadian Baseball Network Honourable Mention honors. He was selected by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 17th. In 2023, at triple-A Durham, Bridgen was 4-4 with two saves and a 3.46 ERA in 44 games. He struck out 95 in 78 innings.
RHP Josh Burgmann (Nanaimo, BC) of the University of Washington Huskies, gained Canadian Baseball Network Honourable Mention honours. Burgmann was chosen in the fifth round by the Chicago Cubs. He posted a 3.79 ERA in nine appearances for the low-A Eugene Emeralds in 2019.
OF Jordan Nwogu (Ottawa, Ont.) of the University of Michigan Wolverines was voted to the 2020 Canadian Baseball Network’s Third Team honors. He was drafted in the third round by the Chicago Cubs. In 2023, at double-A Tennessee, he hit 16 homers, batting .194 with 41 RBIs and a .644 OPS in 97 games.
RHP Noah Skirrow (Stoney Creek, Ont.) Liberty Flames. He earned an Honourable Mention on the 2020 Canadian Baseball Network team. The Phillies signed Skirrow after the draft as a free agent. In 2023, Skirrow was dominant for Canada in the WBC against Colombia, pitching five scoreless. At triple-A Lehigh Valley, he pitched in 23 games -- 14 starts -- and was 8-4 with a 5.84 ERA. He struck out 79 in 101 2/3 innings.
RHP Nick Trogrlic-Iverson (Oakville, Ont.) of the Central Arizona Vaqueros, a Canadian Baseball Network third teamer in 2018, was drafted in the 15th round by the Brewers. He chose to attend Gonzaga University rather and signed with the St. Louis Cardinals as a free agent following the 2020 draft. In 2023, at double-A Spingfield, he was 4-5 with a 4.87 ERA. He fanned 55 in 64 2/3 innings.

2B Tyler Black (Stouffville, Ont.) made the Canadian Baseball Network all-canadian college First Team player — and was our Player of the Year as he was named on 56 of 56 ballots in 2021. The Milwaukee Brewers chose him 33rd over-all in North America and the sixth college hitter selected. The former Wright State Raider was given a $2.2 million US bonus.
OF Denzel Clarke (Pickering, Ont.) earned Canadian Baseball Network all-Canadian Second Team honours in 2020 and earned Third Team honors in 2021. The Oakland A’s selected him in the fourth round from the Cal State Northridge Matadors. In 2023, in 64 games at double-A Midland, Clarke batted .261 with 11 doubles, four triples, 12 homers and 43 RBIs. He had an .877 OPS and was 11-for-12 stealing bases.
RHP Eric Cerantola (Oakville, Ont.), who earned Canadian Baseball Network all-Canadian college Honourable Mention in Team ranking in 2020 was a fifth round draft from the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
OF Tristan Peters (Winkler, Man.) of the Southern Illinois Salukis gained a Canadian Baseball Network all-Canadian college 2021 First Team ranking. He also earned Canadian Baseball Network all-Canadian college Second Team honours in 2019 and Honourable Mention in 2020.
3B Damiano Palmegiani (Surrey, BC) Southern Nevada Coyotes gained Canadian Baseball Network all-Canadian College First Team honors in 2021. He was drafted in the 14th round by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2021.
RHP Jordan Marks (Bright’s Grove, Ont.) of the Upstate University of South Carolina Spartans gained Canadian Baseball Network all-Canadian College First Team honors in 2021 and Third Team honors in 2020. He was choosen in the sixth round by the Detroit Tigers.
C Liam Hicks (Toronto, Ont.) was named to the Canadian Baseball Network all-Canadian College First Team honours in 2019, made the Second Team in 2020 and was an Honourable Mention in 2021. In 2023, Hicks made two stops on the Rangers organizational ladder: class-A Hickory and double-A Frisco playing 92 games. He batted .275 with four homers, 45 RBIs and a .787 OPS.
RHP Garrett Hawkins (Biggar, Sask.) of the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds gained Canadian Baseball Network all-Canadian College Honourable Mention honors in 2020. He was a ninth round selection by the San Diego Padres. In 2023, he pitched at class-A Fort Wayne, appearing in only four games due to injury. Hawkins was 0-2 with a 3.60 ERA striking out 15 in 15 innings.
RHP Conor Angel, (Lachine, Que.) Louisiana at Lafayette Rajin’ Cajuns gained Canadian Baseball Network all-Canadian College Honourable Mention honors in 2020. He was selected in the 15th round by the Tampa By Rays. He pitched two years in the Rays system and did not pitch in 2023.
LHP Adam Tulloch (Toronto, Ont. born/Weston, Fla. resident) gained Canadian Baseball Network all-Canadian College Honourable Mention honors in 2020-21. He was selected in the 15th round from Arizona State University by the Cleveland Guardians. In 2023, Tulloch pitched at class-A Lynchburg. He was 5-6, with a 4.89 ERA in 28 games -- making 20 starts. He struck out 115 in 95 2/3 innings.
C Anthony Quirion (Dixville, Que.) was a Third Team selection to the Canadian Baseball Network all-Canadian College team. The Philadelphia Phillies signed him as a free agent after the draft and his playing days with the Lamar Cardinals. In 2023, he made two stops with the rookie-class Phillies team in the Florida Complex League and class-A Jersey Shore, playing in 57 games. He hit .212 with five homers, 20 RBIs and a .664 OPS.
C Max Hewitt (Midhurst, Ont.) of the Oklahoma State Cowboys was free agent sign by the Los Angeles Dodgers. He earned Third Team honors on the 2021 Canadian Baseball Network all-Canadian College team. In 2023, he played 35 games with the class-A Great Lakes Loons. He batted .212 with 10 RBIs and a .610 OPS.
C Max Wright (Toronto, Ont.) earned a spot on the Canadian Baseball Network Second Team in 2021. After leading the Indiana State Sycamore with 16 homers, he was signed by the San Francisco Giants. In 2023, he was at class-A Eugene playing 34 games. He batted .207 with three homers, 14 RBIs and a .634 OPS.
C Zac Fascia (Brampton, Ont.) earned Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention honors in 2020. The Cleveland Guardians signed him to a free-agent deal after finishing up with the Purdue Boilermakers in 2021. In 2023, Fascia was at both class-A Lynchburg and class-A Lake County playing in 68 games. He batted .249 with three homers, 26 RBIs and a .722 OPS.
C Konner Piotto (Abbotsford, BC/Burlington, Ont.) earned Canadian Baseball Network honourable mention honors in 2021. The Texas Rangers signed him as a free agent from Wright State. In 2023, he split the season between class-A Down East and class-A Hickory playing in 64 games. He batted .244 with three homers, 28 RBIs and a .674 OPS.
David McCabe (Oshawa, Ont.) of the Charlotte ‘49ers earned Canadian Baseball Network college First Team honors in 2021 and 2022. McCabe was selected as a fourth rounder by the Atlanta Braves in 2021. In 2023, he split time between class-A Augusta and class-A Rome playing 123 games. He hit .276 with 23 doubles, 17 homers, 75 RBIs and an .835 OPS.
C Gavin Logan (Oyen, Alta.) of Oregon State was a Third Team electee with the 2022 CCanadian Baseball Network and an honourable mention in 2021. He was a ninth-round selection of the Arizona Diamondbacks from Oregon State in 2021. In 2023, Logan spent time at class-A Visalia and class-A Hillsboro playing 74 games. He hit .176 with six homers, 23 RBIs and a .630 OPS.

Coutney was the Canadian college player of the year in 2022 … andearned a spot on the First Team. He was voted to the CBN Second Yeam in 2019, as well as the Third Team in 2020 and 2021. He was a ninth round selection by the Los Angeles Angels. In 2023, Coutney split time between class-A Inland Empire and class-A Tri-City, combining to bat .264 in 121 games with 16 doubles, five triples, 15 homers, 71 RBIs and a .789 OPS.
RHP Cedric De Grandpre (St-Simon, Que.) was a Canadian Baseball Network college First Teamer. in 2021 and a Second Teamer in 2022 He was selected in the 13th round by the Atlanta Braves from the Chipola College Indians. In 2023, De Grandpre started at class-A Augusta pitching seven games -- five starts -- with a 2.78 ERA as he struck out 40 in 32 1/3 innings. Then, with class-A Rome, he was 2-5 with a 5.13 ERA in 12 starts with 48 strikeouts in 54 1/3 innings.
C Archer Brookman (Pte-Claire, Que.) was a Canadian Baseball Network college First Teamer in 2019 at Seminole State (OK). After playing with the Ohio State Buckeyes and this July’s draft, he signed a free-agent contract with the Detroit Tigers.
