Cazorla Granados continues hot hitting in Team Orange win

Okotoks Dawgs Black outfielder Alejandro Cazorla Granados (Okotoks, Alta.) has spent Tournament 12 controlling what he can, and taking advantage of opportunities. It’s working out just fine. The outfielder for Team Orange has put in a strong presentation in front of pro and college scouts, hitting .360 with an outstanding 1.045 OPS (On Base Plus Slugging). He was back at it on Friday, hitting a triple, in a 5-4 victory over Team Red.

Armorer shines at bat and in field to help Team Maroon to tie

Ontario Blue Jays OF Darius Armorer is doing everything he can to make up for lost time at his first Tournament 12. The 18-year old Whitby, Ont., native suffered a broken hand during the 2018 season that caused him to miss his opportunity to play at T12 last year, but he has impressed both offensively and defensively for Team Maroon at this year’s tournament.

Bush Jr. returns to T12 and the stadium his father starred in

When one hears the family name “Bush,” the subject is often related to the bloodline of American Presidents from Texas. In Canadian baseball circles, there is another Bush family from Texas making headway. Homer Bush Jr., for the second consecutive year, is showcasing his explosive, all-around game at the annual Blue Jays Tournament 12 Showcase at Rogers Centre. The same amphitheatre that his Father, Homer Bush Sr., graced with his baseball talent for parts of four seasons, from 1999 to 2002, as a second baseman for the Toronto Blue Jays.

Calabrese's speed on display again in Team Maroon's loss to Team Green

There’s fast, and then there’s too fast. Ontario Blue Jays OF David Calabrese, a native of Maple, Ont., was the fastest player in Tuesday’s 60-yard dash at T12 Scout Day, registering a time of 6.43 seconds, and put that on display in his first game of the Tournament as his Maroon squad took on Team Green. After appearing to register a two-run hit in the fourth, the 16-year-old’s quickness got the better of him as he failed to touch first base. He still, however, finished 2-for-3 in the game and was named Player of the Game in his team’s 8-3 loss.
