OTTAWA – Baseball Canada has a brand new partnership with Dairy Queen® Canada that will see the fan favourite brand become the exclusive and title sponsor of the Rally Cap program, the naming rights sponsor of all three Baseball Canada 13U National Championships, and a Premier Partner of Baseball Canada.

Under the agreement, Baseball Canada’s Rally Cap program for initiation players will be known as the DQ® Rally Cap Program, while the three 13U National Championships will be referred to as the DQ 13U National, DQ 13U National Atlantic and DQ 13U National Western Championships. In addition, DQ will work alongside a number of local associations across the country to provide additional support for the DQ® Rally Cap program.

“Baseball Canada is thrilled to partner with DQ on these initiatives which we hope will generate even more interest in our sport across the country,” said Baseball Canada President Ray Carter. “We are extremely proud of the success we’ve had with our Rally Cap program over the past ten years and with the support of DQ, we hope to elevate the program and deliver it to even more young Canadians.”

Originally launched in 2006, the Rally Cap program is an initiative to enhance players’ and coaches’ first experience with baseball. The program helps teams teach players the five FUNdamentals of baseball in a fun, supportive and safe environment. Players have the opportunity to perform different tasks in order to earn a coloured Baseball Canada/DQ Rally Cap. Cap colours correspond with various levels of achievement. The program is designed for young baseball players aged 4-9.

“This partnership with Baseball Canada is such a great fit for the Dairy Queen brand,” said Candida Ness, Dairy Queen® Canada Senior Director of Marketing. “Everyone at DQ from our corporate staff to franchisees are excited to be part of developing and celebrating baseball in communities across Canada.”
