Following a game in which Toronto's bullpen accounted for a total of 172 pitches in nine innings, the Blue Jays have recalled RHP Sean Reid-Foley from triple-A Buffalo and have sent right-hander Jordan Romano (Markham, ON) down to their International League squad.

In 14 appearances with the Bisons this season (13 starts), Reid-Foley has posted a 5.87 ERA and has 77 strikeouts and 51 walks in 69 innings.

Having last pitched for Buffalo on June 18, the 6-foot-3, 23-year-old joins the Blue Jays for the second time in 2019 and will look to improve on the 13.50 ERA he established after allowing three earned runs on five hits during a brief two-inning appearance against Baltimore on April 1.

At the time of Sunday's transaction, Reid-Foley led all International League pitches in opponents batting average (.213), though his 51 walks allowed are the most by any hurler at the triple-A level this season.

Caught in the options game, Romano exits the squad after striking out 11 batters in 5 1/3 innings during his first stint at the big league level. Barring any injuries to the Blue Jays pitching staff, he will be eligible to return to Toronto's 25-man roster on July 3.
