Junior National Team alum, Orimoloye, spending first spring at Jays camp

Former Canadian Junior National Team member Demi Orimoloye has traveled the world playing baseball, but coming to Dunedin is a first for him. The 22-year-old outfielder from Nigeria, who moved to Ottawa when he was two months old, has excelled in track and field, basketball, and football, but he didn’t pick up baseball until he began playing it for fun when he was 10.

He is as well-travelled as just about anybody over the course of his 10-year career in professional baseball, but Brazil is a new one for veteran infielder Wes Darvill (Richmond, BC). The 27-year-old has played 10 seasons in professional baseball and is a member of Canada’s Senior National Team for the Pan Am Games Qualification Tournament taking place this week in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
