Jim Cowan

Jim’s earliest recollections of baseball involve trekking to a neighbour’s house in the 1950s to watch the Saturday afternoon “Game of the Week” on a small black-and-white TV, and later, watching sandlot ball at Toronto’s Talbot Park. His interest in the sport was rekindled with the arrival of the Montreal Expos, and was fanned into a blaze when the Toronto Blue Jays were hatched. After university, he started his writing career working for the Toronto Telegram and later, the Toronto Sun, although he eventually transitioned into public relations and government communications. Now retired, he accepts freelance writing assignments when the spirit moves him.
