Humphreys MVP, Moffatt top Canuck, WMBL playoffs begin

And now it is playoff time in the Western Major Baseball League.

Yet, before we get to that point there are the annual WMBL awards to hand out. Awards were voted on by the head coaches of each team in the league. 

INF Alec Humphreys of the Tarleton State Texas earned MVP honors with the Swift Current Indians, while teammate C Boder Cooper of the Wayne State Wildcats took rookie of the year honors.   

Humphreys hit .393 with 14 doubles, a triple, five homers and 30 RBIs in 48 games, while Cooper hit .338 with 14 doubles, a triple, five homers and 33 RBIs in 44 games.

OF Mike Moffatt (Burlington) of the Northern Kentucky Norse hit .331 with nine doubles, two triples, eight homers and 30 RBIs in 38 games for the Lethrbidge Bulls to win Canadian rookie of the year honors.
