How does someone born in Saskatchewan wind up in PEI?: “I was born in Moose Jaw when my parents were living out there for work. My parents wanted us to grow up closer to home and family, so we moved back to PEI when my older sister and I were about a year old.”
Who is the most influential person in your baseball life?: “My dad (Steve Langley). He was my hero growing up. I followed him to every ball field I could while he was still playing fast pitch as a pitcher. I always wanted to be like my dad and follow in his footsteps. He has spent numerous hours playing catch in the backyard and chasing balls into the woods when I make a bad throw. I would not be near the man I am without him.”
The most influential person in your baseball life who is not part of your family: “John Clarke was my host dad when I was playing for team Ontario. He is the most influential person in my life outside of my own family. He has been incredibly supportive on and off the field any time a need help. Him and his wife Dana still come to visit me every fall and spring and their support means the world to me. He never taught me anything skill-wise about the game but what he has provided in life lessons is better than anything.”
Best day on the ball field: “We played Michigan state this year at Fluor Field in Greenville SC. It was an amazing experience just playing at that gorgeous stadium, but getting into pitch against a Power 4 team in my first year of D1 ball was an amazing experience itself. Then dominating the last three innings of the game and helping my team to a win made it even better. This was the first time I realized that the pro dream could really be attainable this year.”
Private pre-draft workouts with: “The Dodgers, Yankees, Astros, and Padres.”
Favorite player as a youngster: “I grew up loving to watch Aaron Sanchez of the Blue Jays. I always tried to pitch like him since we were similar sizes and threw similarly.”
Favorite player now: “Felix Bautista. I love watching him throw at 6-foot-8, a 270-pounder — or how ever big he is — it is so fun watching him throw 100+ as a closer.”
Did scouts ever compare you to another player: “One scout compared me to Red Sox pitcher Justin Slaten.”

Struck out 63, including 43 in 2022-23, against 19 total walks over 42 2/3 innings, limiting opponents to a .266 batting average against.
2023 spring at USC-Lancaster Lancers _ Was 2-2 with four saves and a 2.35 ERA ... Walked 10 and struck out 43 in 30 2/3 inning in 18 games.
How does an Islander wind up with Team Ontario: “How I got to Team Ontario is a great example of how small the baseball world is. I was looking for a team to play for that would give me the best chance to get into college ball in the states. Dan Gillis who is one of the coaches in that organization, coached my dad (Steve Langley) when he was growing up. Gillis got me a spot on that team and I will forever be grateful for that first opportunity.”
