Harley Gollert pitched five scoreless innings for the Ontario Blue Jays in a 7-1 St. Louis Pirates/Elite Baseball Training in Day 3 of play in Jupiter, Fla.

And now that pool play has been completed in the 88-team Perfect Game World Wood Bat Association World Championship, teams advance to Sunday games.

Gollert (Toronto, Ont.) allowed four hits and two walks, while striking out four in his 67 pitch outing (41 strikes). He recorded 10 ground ball outs.

Jacob Newton (Oakville, Ont.) keyed a four-run third inning by leading off a scoreless inning with a bunt single. Noah Naylor (Mississauga, Ont.) followed with a single and a grounder by Garrett Takamatsu (Burlington, Ont.) erased Naylor and scored Newton.

After Roman Kula (Toronto, Ont.) was hit by a pitch and an out, Andrew Leggo (Waterloo, Ont.) walked to load the bases. Then, Reece Reeding (Listowel, Ont.) walked to force in a run and Alex Jones (Bowmanville, Ont.) followed with a two-run single.

Reeding had two hits and knocked in a run, while Cooper Davis (Mississauga, Ont.) and Leggo added singles for the other hits.

Diego Dominguez (Vaughan, Ont.) pitched the final two innings giving up a run on three hits and striking out two.

The Ontario Blue Jays are 1-2 and advance to Sunday meeting the Kentucky Baseball Club Prime
and Cangelosi Baseball.

Danny Berg continued to carry his heavy lumber from one diamond to another around the Florida Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals spring training complexes.

Berg (Saskatoon, Sask.) tripled as the DBacks Langley Blaze fell 6-1 to the Dirtbags.

Jacob English (London, Ont.) was first man out of the bullpen and turned in 2 2/3 scoreless walking one and striking out a pair. And Clayton Keyes (Calgary, Alta.) recorded the final two outs, one a strike out.

The 1-2 DBacks Langley Blaze next meet the Texas Scout Team Yankees.

Kyle Stevenson (Oshawa, Ont.) had a pair of hits for Canada Perfect Game Gold and knocked in the only run in a 7-1 loss to CBA Marucci.

Jacob Kush (Guelph, Ont.) started for Canada PG Gold allowing four runs on six hits and three walks. He struck out a pair in his 60-pitch outing (33 strikes). Next out of the bullpen was Kurt Dillon (Ottawa, Ont.) who pitched three innings giving up three runs on two hits and three walks. He threw 44 pitches (23 strikes) and fannned one. Ricardo Alvarez De Lugo (Mississauga, Ont.) pitched a scoreless, 1-2-3, 10-pitch seventh striking out one.

Andres Gonzalez (Toronto, Ont.) and Jake Ervin (Mississauga, Ont.) had the other hits for Canada PG.

RHP David Rhodes (White Rock, BC) pitched four solid innings as Baseball Northwest edged Astros Scout Team/FTB Tucci by a 5-2 score. Rhodes, a University of Washington commit, allowed two runs on four hits and a walk. He fanned five in his 61-pitch outing (43 strikes). Rhodes pitches for the Seattle Select.

The 2-1 Baseball Northwest won its pool and meets Georgia PG Texas Orange on Sunday.

Dondrae Bremner (Toronto, Ont) was hitless as Toronto Blue Jays Scout Team fell 5-3 to Stars Baseball. His team faces the Royals Scout Team on Sunday.

Trei Cruz (Houston, Tex.), the Toronto-born son of former Blue Jays outfielder Jose Cruz, was hitless in two at-bats leading off for the Royals Scout Team, which fell 7-0 to Team Evoshield.

The Royals finished 1-2 and finish playing the Toronto Blue Jays Scout Team on Sunday.
