RHP Chris Messer headed south and he is seeing a few states along the way.

Messer (Calgary, Alta.) pitched for the Prairie Baseball Academy Dawgs in Lethbridge before moving to the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

Then, he was off Florida SouthWestern College Bucs in 2018. He went 1-1 record with a 7.93 ERA while striking out 23 in 25 innings while pitching in 22 games.

Last spring he was with the Lamar Runnin’ Lopes in Colorado. He was 0-1 with one save and a 7.88 ERA. He walked 29 and struck out 41 in 29 2/3 innings.

And now, Messer has signed a Letter of Intent to pitch for the University of Utah Utes.

At Utah last season was OF Isaac Deveaux (Montreal, Que. who batted .227 in 23 games. Deveaux had two doubles and eight RBIs with a .540 OPS.
