RHP Conor Angel is headed to B.J. Ryan’s school.

Former Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles closer Ryan always said he had his mechanics fixed during his time with the University of Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns.

That’s where Angel (Lachine, Que.) will transfer from the Northwest Florida State College Raiders to thee Ragin’ Cajuns.

Last spring as a freshman, Angel was 0-3 with an 8.77 ERA in 15 games, making six starts. He walked 19 and fanned 25 in 25 2/3 innings. He averaged 9.82 strikeouts per nine as a freshman and recorded multiple strikeouts in 11 of 15 outings.

Angel pitched for the Canadian Junior National Team (2015-18) and earned the Russell Martin Trophy recipient for top prospect in the Quebec Junior Elite Baseball League (2017).

He went to prep school at Lakeside Academy in Kalamazoo, Mich. and participated in the 2018 Florida JUCO All-Star game.
