The Toronto Blue Jays lost 9-8 to the New York Yankees at Dunedin Stadium in Grapefruit League action on Monday.

Four Canadians saw action for the Blue Jays during this contest. Montreal native Russell Martin started at catcher and socked a solo home run in the second inning. Meanwhile, John Axford (Port Dover, Ont.), Jordan Romano (Markham, Ont.) and Andrew Case (Saint John, N.B.) all made appearances on the mound.

Estrada's tossed a scoreless first inning for the Blue Jays in his 2018 spring debut.

Martin clubbed a second-inning home run and walked in his two at bats.

Port Dover, Ont., native John Axford was the Blue Jays' third pitcher of the game. He shutout the Yankees in his inning.

Blue Jays centre fielder Kevin Pillar was 2-for-2 with a double and a single.

Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis was 1-for-3 hitting out of the leadoff spot.

Catcher Reese McGuire followed up Martin's home run with a solo round-tripper of his own in the eighth inning.

Blue Jays pitching prospect Sean Reid-Foley was roughed up for five runs (three earned) in 1 1/3 innings and took the loss.

Markham, Ont., native Jordan Romano allowed a run in 2/3 of an inning on Monday. It was his second appearance with the Blue Jays this spring.

Saint John, N.B., native Andrew Case signs autographs after Monday's game. He pitched a scoreless ninth inning for the Blue Jays in the contest.

Blue Jays superstar Josh Donaldson signs autographs for fans after he came out of the game on Monday. He went 0-for-1 with a walk in two at bats.
