Canadian Premier was listed as a “dark horse,” to win its pool prior to the 28th annual, 120-team, Perfect Game Wood Bat tournament.
Three games in, Jamie Romak’s team is like a feature performer at Woodbine facing $25,000 claimers.
Canadian Premier scorched Premier 2027 Scout 11-0 with its second nine-run inning in as many days at Jupiter, Fla. Just as impressive were Caleb Dupuis and Alex Wallace who combined on a one-hitter.
Leading 1-0 in the second inning, Gino De Santis (Chatham, Ont.) led off with a single to right. An error and a single by Samuel Ellis (La Peche, Que.) loaded the bases leading to a bases-loaded walk by Evan Walker (Ajax, Ont.).
William Nolet (Saint-Gilles, Que.) fouled off four straight pitches. As usual, the longer an at-bat goes the advantage goes to the hitter. Nolet hit the fifth pitch over the left field fence for a grand slam, making it 6-0.
Three straight walks loaded the bases again. Jalen Jacob (Maple, Ont.) scored on a wild pitch and Mikey Batiste (Mississauga, Ont.) hit a two-run single to left. After a wild pitch Batiste scored on a balk.
FieldHouse Pirates RHP Caleb Dupuis (Georgetown, Ont.) dominated for Canadian Premier
Dupuis (Georgetown, Ont.) had the upper hand, allowing the one hit, while whiffing seven. He threw 51 pitches (37 strikes). Wallace (Oakville, Ont.) struck out two of the three men he faced in the 11-pitch fifth.
Nolet also tripled to right in the first, giving him a five-RBI day.
Walker added a double and two RBIs for Canadian Premier who have outscored the opposition 29-7 in its first three games. Canadian Premier benefited from 11 walks.
If Canadian Premier wins its final round-robin game against Canes West National it would advance to the playoff rounds.

RHP Callum Andersen owned the mound, pounding the strike zone throughout five scoreless innings, yet his Brewers Langley Blaze lost 5-2 to Team USA-Team Nike.
Anderson (Calgary, Alta.) allowed two hits and a walk. Clocked at 96 MPH, he struck out eight in his 73-pitch outing (67% strikes).
The five unearned runs came in 1 1/3 innings on five hits. LHP Santiago Acosta (Maple Ridge, BC) retired the final two outs of the game, hitting 86 MPH.
Fox Ferguson (Surrey, BC) led Langley with a pair of hits, while Rhys Whiteford (Duncan, BC), Evan Maloney (Chilliwack, BC) and Jake Carriere (Abbotsford, BC) were the other Canucks with hits.
