TORONTO -- Right-handed hurler David Paulino became the 33rd player listed on the Toronto Blue Jays' lineup card on Wednesday, and the eighth added since rosters expanded on September 1.

Acquired from the Houston Astros in a deal that sent Roberto Osuna south on July 30, Paulino, 24, joins the Blue Jays having pitched to a cumulative ERA of 2.62 while also posting a WHIP of 1.032 across 58 minor league appearances dating back to his professional debut as a 17-year-old with the Tigers Dominican Summer League outpost in 2011.

Featuring a four-pitch mix that includes a trio of off-speed offerings, the 6-foot-7 product of Nizao, D.R. has made nine appearances at the big league level, seven of which have come as a starter. During that stretch, he's struck out 36 while allowing 10 walks and 25 earned runs across 36 frames.

Having now recovered from a shoulder strain that has kept him off the field since July 17, Paulino, who was listed as the Blue Jays No. 19 prospect by MLB Pipeline prior to Wednesday's move, will get a chance to start with Toronto during the season's final stretch.
