The Toronto Blue Jays have claimed RHP Zack Godley off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Godley, 29, holds a 3-5 record with a 6.39 ERA across nine starts and 18 relief appearances for Arizona this season, striking out 58 batters in 76 innings pitched. The 6-3, 240 lb. right-handed pitcher was acquired by the Diamondbacks in 2014 from the Chicago Cubs who drafted him in the 10th round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft. The Bamberg, S.C., native owns a career record of 36-30 with a 4.70 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP in five seasons with Arizona.

To make room on the 40-man roster, RHP David Paulino has been designated for assignment.
