The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired C Owen Carapellotti from the Athletics in exchange for RHP Hayden Juenger.

Carapellotti, 23, has played in 20 contests with the Athletics’ Single-A affiliate in Stockton, slashing .267/.389/.627 with three doubles, eight home runs, 20 RBIs, 15 walks, and a 1.016 OPS in his first professional season. The left-handed hitting catcher from Ann Arbor, Mich., was signed by the Athletics as a non-drafted free agent in July of 2025, after a four-year career at Georgetown University.

Juenger, 25, made a pair of appearances for the Blue Jays this season, including his MLB debut, in addition to 21 games with triple-A Buffalo, during which he posted a 2.59 ERA with 28 strikeouts and nine walks over 24 1/3 innings. The 6-foot, 180-pound right-handed pitcher was selected by the Blue Jays in the sixth round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft out of Missouri State University.

The O’Fallon, Ill., native suited up for 213 career games (28 starts) over six seasons in the Toronto system from 2021 to 2026, going 20-15 with a 4.39 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP.
