The Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to terms with RHP Chris Bassitt on a three-year contract (US $63,000,000).

Bassitt, 33, posted a 3.42 ERA and a 15-9 record for the New York Mets in 2022, setting career highs with 30 starts, 181 2/3 innings pitched, and 167 strikeouts.

The native of Toledo, Ohio, was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in 2011 and made his major league debut with the club in 2014. He spent the next six seasons on the hill for the Oakland Athletics, wrapping up his time in an A’s uniform with an All-Star appearance in 2021.

The 6-foot-5, 217-pound University of Akron product has made 123 starts and 13 relief appearances over the course of his eight-year career, amassing a record of 46-34, a 3.45 ERA, and a 1.20 WHIP.

To make room on the 40-man roster, LHP Anthony Kay has been designated for assignment.
