TORONTO -- Following a game in which their next scheduled starter was pressed into action as a reliever, the Blue Jays have recalled RHP Jacob Waguespack from triple-A Buffalo to take the hill against Boston on Wednesday.

In a corresponding move, RHP Sean Reid-Foley was optioned to clear a spot on the 25-man roster.

Shelved with a right shoulder strain in late May, Waguespack has made three appearances with the Bisons since being cleared to resume pitching, topping out with a four-inning, 51-pitch effort against the Norfolk Tides on June 21.

In 13 appearances this season, the 6-foot-6 product of Geismar, La. has allowed 33 earned runs on 60 hits spread out across 56 2/3 innings between Buffalo and Toronto.

Eligible to rejoin the Blue Jays on July 13, Reid-Foley allowed just two earned runs across 10 2/3 innings in his most recent stint with the Blue Jays, striking out nine batters and issuing four walks.
