Toronto, Ont. – Rogers Communications today announced the five-year contract renewal of Mark Shapiro as President & CEO of the Toronto Blue Jays.
"Mark’s exceptional leadership has been a driving force behind the Blue Jays success, and we’re thrilled he will continue to lead our team and build on their incredible momentum,” said Edward Rogers, Chair of the Toronto Blue Jays and Executive Chair of Rogers Communications. “As proud owner of Canada’s team, we are excited to work with Mark and his team to give them the tools and resources they need to bring World Series championships back to Canada.”
Shapiro joined the Toronto Blue Jays as President & CEO at the end of the 2015 season and is one of few Major League Baseball executives who has experience in all facets of the game – baseball, business, and league operations. In his role, Shapiro oversees Baseball Operations, Business Operations including Rogers Centre’s concerts and events business, and is a representative of the Blue Jays at the league ownership level.

During his tenure, Shapiro has modernized the franchise to deliver for fans in both wins and experiences. This includes five postseason appearances, including reaching the World Series in 2025, leading the revitalization of the fan experience with the extensive renovations to Rogers Centre, and creating an industry-leading training facility in Dunedin, FL.
“The opportunity to lead the Blue Jays organization over the past 10 years has been incredibly fulfilling. Together we have built an organization with people who care deeply about baseball and take immense pride in being Canada's team. Shapiro is a member of numerous MLB committees and member of the Board of Directors at Jays Care Foundation.
