It is post-season time.

Which means A) the best big-league teams from the TV League are playing to win the World Series ...

And B) the best high schoolers from across the country are bound for the annual Perfect Game World Wood Bat championships in Jupiter, Fla.

Like the Ontario Blue Jays and Canadian Premier teams, the Brewers Langley Blaze are regular visitors and familiar faces to Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium and the 12 diamonds occupied each spring by the St. Louis Cardinals and the Miami Marlins.

In all, 22 future major-leaguer players have worn the Blaze uniform whether it was for three seasons or for a trip to Jupiter in the fall or Arizona in the spring.

Over the years Doug Mathieson, Jamie Bodaly and others have coached 26 major leaguers:

Tyler O’Neill (Maple Ridge, BC), Brett Lawrie (Langley, BC), Nick Pivetta (Victoria, BC), Scott Mathieson (Aldergrove, BC), Taylor Green (Comox, BC), Jared Young (Prince George, BC) and Rowan Wick (Vancouver, BC).

Charles Leblanc (Laval, Que.), Jacob Robson (Windsor, Ont.), Jesen Dygestile-Therrien (Montreal, Que.), Brendan McKay (Beaver Falls, Penn.) and Jackson Wolf (Gahanna, Ohio),
