Parker Burgess will head to Charleston

Parker Burgess is moving on.
After being a red-shirt freshman with the University of Illinois Illini, he pitched in 2025 for the Florida Southwestern State College Bucs.
And now RHP Burgess (Douro-Dummer, Ont.), a former Toronto Met, has committed to the College of Charleston Cougars.
In 2025 at Florida Southwestern State, he appeared in 15 games -- 13 starts -- going 2-2 with a 5.89 ERA. He struck out 41 in 36 2/3 innings.
Burgess recorded his two wins over the St. Petersburg Titans by a 13-2 score and Indian River Pioneers.
Against St. Pete’s, he pitched three scoreless, allowing one hit and three walks while fanning two. And facing Indian River, he pitched six scoreless, allowing one hit and three walks, while striking out eight.
Last spring he had two Canuck teammates: LHP Loic Guillimette (St-Boniface, Que.) and OF Ty Hamilton (Cumberland, Ont.).

He was a member of Canada’s WBSC U18 World Cup team and also pitched for Canada in The Friendship Series against the United States in 2021.
With the Mets in Canadian Premier Baseball League 17U play in 2021 he owned a 1.90 ERA. Burgess also played triple-A hockey for six years and high school basketball.
