Therrien added to WBC roster

OTTAWA- Baseball Canada has added RHP Jesen Therrien (Montréal, Que.) to Canada’s roster for the upcoming World Baseball Classic.

Therrien replaces RHP John Axford (Port Dover, Ont.) who has withdrawn from participating in the tournament due to personal and professional reasons.

Therrien, 23, is a member of the Philadelphia Phillies organization and spent the 2016 season between Double-A Reading and High-A Clearwater. He represented Canada in 2010 at the IBAF 18U Baseball World Cup and in 2011 at the COPABE 18U Pan Am Championships where Canada won a silver medal.
