Canadians from coast to coast have been getting it done all season long for their college baseball teams.

So far we’ve had College Player of the Week recipients from Quebec, British Columbia, Ontario and Alberta.

And this week New Brunswick joins the list.

Demitri Shakotko (Fredericton, N.B.) was a standout for Cloud County Community College in their six games.

Shakotko started his week with two hits, two walks, a RBI and was hit by a pitch in a pair of wins over the Baker University JV’s.

Over the weekend the Thunderbirds swept four games from Garden City Community College. Shakotko doubled in an 11-0 Game 1 win before going 2-for-3 with a walk, two RBIs, a stolen base and another hit by pitch in a 15-1 victory in Game 2.

Game 3 saw him hit a two-run and a three-run home run in a 10-5 win.

To put a bow on the week, he went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run and a walk in a series sweeping 17-5 victory.

Demitri Shakotko is the Canadian Baseball Network College Player of the Week for April 10 to 16.
