A week after the first junior college pitcher took home the honour, a junior college hitter becomes Canada’s top player for the first time. 

Bismarck State Community College’s Wyatt Tweet (Russell, Man.) put together quite the week as the Mystics won all six of their games. 

Tweet started by collecting two hits and three RBIs in a midweek doubleheader sweep of Lake Region State. He homered in a 10-2 Game 1 win. 

North Dakota State College of the Science provided the next opponent. 

It started off well for Tweet and the Mystics as he went 3-for-5 with two home runs, a walk and six RBIs during a 16-9 victory in Game 1. 

He chipped in two hits, including a home run, and four RBIs in a 14-0 blowout in Game 2. 

Game 3 featured two hits, another home run, a walk and two RBIs from Tweet as part of a 15-1 win. 

The power surge continued in Game 4, a 14-3 victory, as Tweet had two more home runs and three hits in all en route to driving in five. 

That was a lot of production, so let’s recap. 

On the week, Tweet had 12 hits, seven home runs, two walks and 20 RBIs. 

And not that you were thinking it, but it’s no fluke as he’s now hitting .418 with 11 home runs and 55 RBIs in 32 games. 

Wyatt Tweet is the Canadian Baseball Network College Player of the Week for April 15 to 21.
