ST. LOUIS -- Indiana State's Tyler Whitbread (Camlachie, Ont.) has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

It marks the fifth weekly award for the Sycamores this season.

Whitbread improved to 7-2 on the year following a series clinching eight-inning outing against Bradley Saturday. Whitbread allowed just four base hits to the high-powered Braves lineup, holding BU out of the hit column until the sixth inning. The right-hander struck out eight Braves and issued just two walks while retiring Bradley in order in five different innings.
