Official Guelph Royals News Release

GUELPH - The Guelph Royals have re-signed starting pitcher Jacob Kush.

Kush, 26, returns to the Royals for his third season with the team.

In his debut season with the team in 2024, the Guelph, Ont., native won the league's ERA title, recording an impressive ERA of 1.47 in 10 starts.

In 2025, the right-hander had a 3.03 ERA in 10 starts, good enough for a lifetime ERA of 2.31 with 180 strikeouts in 167 1/3 innings.

Kush said he is looking forward to taking the bump in Guelph for yet another season.

"I'm super excited to play another year in the Royal City. I am thrilled with the roster management has put together in hopes of bringing another championship back to Guelph."

Royals assistant general manager Ryan Eakin said the Royals are pumped to bring Kush back.

"Kush is a ratio-breaker for us. He is a true ace who can beat anyone, anywhere. He allows us to not have to spend import spots on our entire rotation. I love how fired up our returning players are in my conversations with them and Jacob is no different."
