Official Guelph Royals News Release
GUELPH, ONT. - The Guelph Royals are excited to announce the signing of infielder Miguel Hiraldo.
Hiraldo, 25, joins the Royals after a decorated career in the minors with the Toronto Blue Jays organization.
From 2018-2024, Hiraldo was in the Blue Jays system, reaching as high as triple-A in 2024.
The righty, who can play second base, shortstop, and third base, was once ranked eighth on the Jays' top prospect list, ahead of the likes of Santiago Espinal, Anthony Kay, Leo Jimenez, Otto Lopez (Montreal, Que.) and Griffin Conine.
The native of Santiago, D.R. batted a lifetime .260 with 40 home runs, 13 triples, and 115 stolen bases across his minor league career.
"We truly believe we landed a MVP calibre player in Hiraldo,” said Royals assistant general manager Ryan Eakin. “This signing happened quickly, but that speaks to Hiraldo's talent and resume. We did not want to lose out on him. He came as close as you can come in a career without making it to the big leagues. He's going to be a middle-of-the-order bat for us who can play three different positions. His power and arm are huge assets that we are excited about."
