HAMILTON, ONT. – The Hamilton Cardinals are excited to announce the re-signing of outfielder Tyler Duncan for the 2026 season.
Duncan, a native of Sooke, B.C., is a former member of the Junior National Team. He was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 30th round of the 2016 MLB Amateur Draft out of high school but elected to go the college route. He played three years for Arkansas State of the NCAA Division I Sun Belt Conference, appearing in 118 games and slashing .291/.367/.477 for the Red Wolves.
Now entering his fifth season with the Cardinals, Duncan has appeared in 165 regular-season games, posting a .330/.394/.574 slash line with 33 home runs and 23 stolen bases.
In 2023, Duncan became the first Hamilton Cardinals player to win the league MVP award, the John Bell Memorial Trophy. During his historic campaign, Duncan set franchise records for the most home runs (16) and RBIs (51) in a single season. He is also a three-time All-Star (‘23, ‘24, ‘25), a two-time Home Run Derby champion following the All-Star Game (‘24, ‘25), and a one-time Rawlings Gold Glove Award winner (‘25).
Duncan has become a cornerstone of Hamilton Cardinals baseball both on and off the field. Beyond his on-field success, he has played an active role in the community through the Cardinals Kids Camp and the organization’s many outreach appearances, continuing to make a positive impact throughout Hamilton.
