Official Kitchener Panthers News Release

KITCHENER, ONT. - The Kitchener Panthers are proud to announce the signing of league veteran Josh Williams.

Williams (Toronto, Ont.) joins his brother Malik, who was traded to Kitchener from Barrie earlier this week. The veteran first baseman/DH joins his fifth team in the circuit, after already playing games for London, Welland, Chatham-Kent and Hamilton since 2019.

Last season was his most productive yet. He got into 31 games in 2025 with the Cardinals, hitting .277 with a career-high five home runs and 18 RBIs.

His collegiate years took him to Arkansas-Pine Bluff where he was a career .285 hitter.

He also played in the Pecos League with the White Sands Pupfish in 2018, where he had a .333 batting average, hit six home runs and knocked in 30 runs.

"Josh gives us another power bat to add to our lineup," said general manager Shanif Hirani. "He did plenty of damage against us at Jack Couch and I'm glad he will now be on our side. His veteran leadership will also be important to our team."
