Cazorla, Luther, Rose lead Dawgs to 9-2 win

The Okotoks Dawgs made it two wins in a row after defeating the Swift Current 57s 9-3 on Wednesday night.

With the victory, the Dawgs move to 38-15 on the season and are now one game ahead of the Sylvan Lake Gulls atop the WCBL’s West division with three games remaining.

Brendan Luther (Mississauga, Ont.) went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for the Dawgs to extend his hitting streak to 14 games. Alejandro Cazorla (Okotoks, Alta.) added two hits and three RBIs, while Aidan Rose (Calgary, Alta.) had a hit, two runs and two RBIs.

On the mound, Brock Townsend started and allowed just two runs on three hits, while striking out three, in five innings

The Dawgs will play the 57s again on Thursday. It will be the final matchup of the season between the two clubs.
