The Okotoks Dawgs cruised to an 11-4 victory over the Brooks Bombers on Wednesday night at Seaman Stadium.
After a quiet start, the Dawgs broke the game open with a four-run second inning and tacked on runs in nearly every frame from there on.
Connor Crowson (Okotoks, Alta.) had the biggest swing of the night, blasting a grand slam and finishing with four RBIs. Ricardo Sanchez (Gonzaga University) stayed hot with a 3-for-4 performance and drove in two runs. Leo Cote (Boucherville, Que.) also had a solid night, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs.
Zane Skansi (Campbellsville University) also added two hits and an RBI.
On the mound, Brady Baltus (Bellevue University) got the start and gave up four runs on four hits through five innings.
The Dawgs’ bullpen held the Bombers off the scoreboard the rest of the way, with Brody Forno (Calgary, Alta.), Chase Tucker (Mount Pearl, Nfld.), Reid Madariaga (Seattle University) and Ryan McFarland (Calgary, Alta.) combining for four scoreless innings.
The Dawgs and Bombers will continue their West Division Semi-Finals series on Thursday in Brooks.
