Crowell, Wrubleski, Skaggs homer in Dawgs' win over Bombers

The Okotoks Dawgs’ offence was firing on all cylinders in their 9-2 win over the Brooks Bombers at Seaman Stadium on Wednesday.

In total, the Dawgs had 11 hits, including three home runs.

Jake Skaggs (Pittsburg State University) had one of those homers - a solo shot - as part of his 2-for-3 performance that also included two walks and two runs.

Nash Crowell (Yarmouth, N.S.) and Jacob Wrubleski (Okotoks, Alta.) also homered for the Dawgs.

Other offensive standouts for the Dawgs included Kadyn Williams (Pittsburg State University) who went 2-for-3 with two walks and two runs, Connor Crowson (Okotoks, Alta.) who had three hits and two runs and Jason Arriola (Colorado State University - Pueblo) who went 1-for-2 with two walks and three RBIs.

On the mound, Brady Baltus (New Mexico State University) got the start and allowed just two runs in five innings, while recording six strikeouts.

Four Dawgs relievers - Ryan McFarland (Calgary, Alta.), Anderson Tordiffe (Surrey, B.C.), Trey Mackwood (Calgary, Alta.), and Dominic Wade (Ellsworth Community College) - contributed scoreless innings for the Dawgs.

The Dawgs hit the road to face the Lethbridge Bulls on Thursday.
