The Okotoks Dawgs edged the Lethbridge Bulls 6-4 on Wednesday night at Spitz Stadium.
They held off a push in the bottom of the ninth by the Bulls to secure their 35th win of the season. With the victory, they moved four games ahead of the Bulls atop the West Division standings.
Zane Skansi (Campbellsville University) led the Dawgs offensively with a two-hit game, including a home run and two RBIs.
Barry Eiseman (Reinhardt University) also contributed a hit and two RBIs, while Logan Grant (Calgary, Alta.) picked up a pair of hits.
On the mound, Brady Baltus (Bellevue University) started and allowed four runs in 5 1/3 innings to earn the win.
Chase Tucker (Mount Pearl, Nfld.) was dominant in relief, striking out all three batters he faced in the eighth inning.
Alex Oliver (Colorado State University Pueblo) then worked around a walk and a hit in the ninth to strike out the side to notch the save.
The Dawgs will now play an away doubleheader at Seaman Stadium against the Energy City Cactus Rats on Thursday. The games are set to start at 5:05 and 7:30.
