The Okotoks Dawgs came out swinging and never looked back as they took down the Sylvan Lake Gulls 8–5 on Wednesday night in a high-energy West Division battle.
After a scoreless first inning, the Dawgs erupted for five runs between the second and third innings, setting the tone for the rest of the night. A mix of timely hitting and aggressive baserunning helped Okotoks keep the pressure on the Gulls’ pitching staff.
Leading the way offensively for the Dawgs was right fielder Barry Eiseman (Reinhardt University), who drove in a team-high three runs.
On the mound, reliever Alex Oliver (Colorado State University Pueblo) closed out the game in the ninth inning. With the Gulls threatening, Oliver stepped in and got the final three outs to record the save.
The Dawgs will play the Gulls again on Thursday.
