Crowson, Forno lead Dawgs past Gulls

Okotoks, Alta. – The Okotoks Dawgs defeated the Sylvan Lake Gulls 5-2 in front of 6,340 fans at Seaman Stadium on Friday night.

The Dawgs’ offence was led by Connor Crowson (Okotoks, Alta.) who went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs.

Cal Gates also turned in a strong performance, finishing 1-for-2 with two runs, an RBI, a stolen base and a walk.

On the mound, Brody Forno (Okotoks, Alta.) delivered another strong start, tossing six scoreless innings while striking out nine.

Grady Keljo and Brody Burnette combined for 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief to seal the victory.

Five Dawgs will represent Okotoks at the WCBL All-Star Game on the weekend in Saskatoon before the club travels to Energy City Metro Ballpark to face the Energy City Cactus Rats on Monday.

The Dawgs then return home to Seaman Stadium on Tuesday to take on the Brooks Bombers.
