Okotoks, Alta. – The Okotoks Dawgs closed out their regular season road schedule with a 7-3 win over the Sylvan Lake Gulls on Monday at Gulls Stadium.

Cal Gates led the Dawgs’ offence, going 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and a stolen base.

Ricky Sanchez added two hits, two runs, an RBI, a stolen base and a walk, while Eric Machej (Edmonton, Alta.) belted a home run and collected two RBIs.

On the mound, Xander Guedes (North Vancouver, B.C.), of the Dawgs Academy, earned the victory after delivering four innings of relief, allowing two runs on six hits while striking out five.

Reid Madriaga finished the game with two scoreless innings, limiting the Gulls to one hit while recording two strikeouts.

The Dawgs will now return home for their final two regular season games in which they will take on the Energy City Cactus Rats on Tuesday and Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. both nights.
