The Okotoks Dawgs came out on top in a high-scoring battle Thursday night, edging the Moose Jaw Miller Express 11–9.

After trailing through the first half, the Dawgs broke things open with a six-run seventh inning and then held on for the win.

Jacob Wrubleski (Okotoks, Alta.) was the offensive star for the Dawgs in their 16-hit attack. He belted a grand slam in the seventh inning as part of his 2-for-4 performance. He finished with five RBIs.

Jake Skaggs (Pittsburgh State University) added three hits and two RBIs, while Barry Eiseman (Reinhardt University) and Zane Skansi (Campbellsville University) each chipped in with multi-hit games.

On the mound, Brody Forno (Okotoks, Alta.) started and struck out four in five innings for the Dawgs. Cade Langford (Southwest Baptist University) took over for Forno and recorded two strikeouts in a scoreless sixth.

The Dawgs will now head to Medicine Hat to face the Mavericks on Friday.
