Okotoks, Alta. – The Okotoks Dawgs put up a good effort on Thursday night, but ultimately fell to the Regina Red Sox 10-9.

The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for the Dawgs and dropped their season record to 24-10.

The Dawgs’ offence was led by Ayden Crouse who went 4-for-5 with two RBIs.

Landon Kauffman (Vancouver, B.C.) also had a nice night, going 3-for-4 with a run and three RBIs, while Turner Zdunich (High River, Alta.) added two hits.

WCBL All-Star Cal Gates came on as a pinch runner late, and stole two critical bases, including home to tie the game in the top of the ninth.

The Dawgs pitching was led by a standout performance from reliever Bracken Rice who tossed four scoreless innings, striking out three.

Okotoks continues their road trip on Friday when they take on the Weyburn Beavers. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
