The Okotoks Dawgs came up just short in a back-and-forth contest, falling 8-7 to the Brooks Bombers on Tuesday night.

After jumping out to an early 3-0 lead in the first, the Dawgs couldn’t capitalize on their momentum, allowing Brooks to chip away and eventually take the lead with a run in the bottom of the eighth.

Despite the lead-off hitter reaching on an error in the top of the ninth, the Dawgs were unable to mount a final rally.

Jake Skaggs (Pittsburgh State University) continued to swing a hot bat for the Dawgs, going 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored.

Ricardo Sanchez (Pittsburgh State University) also had a multi-hit game, finishing 2-for-4 with a walk.

The Dawgs will face the Bombers again on Wednesday at Seaman Stadium at 7:05 p.m.
