The Okotoks Dawgs lost 8-3 to the Sylvan Lake Gulls on Thursday night.
The loss snapped the Dawgs’ four-game winning streak and dropped their season record to 27-11.
The Dawgs and Gulls are now tied atop the WCBL’s Western Division standings.
Nash Crowell (Yarmouth, N.S.) and Eric Machej (Edmonton, Alta.) led the Dawgs’ offence with a pair of hits each.
Ricky Sanchez also had a strong night, going 1-for-4 with a pair of RBIs.
On the mound, Brody Papay started and permitted two runs, while striking out five, in 4 2/3 innings.
The Dawgs now head home for a rematch with the Gulls on Friday night at Seaman Stadium.
