The Okotoks Dawgs fell 7–2 to the Lethbridge Bulls on Sunday afternoon, managing a pair of late runs after being held scoreless through the first six innings.
Lethbridge broke the game open with a four-run sixth and padded their lead in the ninth.
On the mound, Seth Gurr (Coaldale, Alta.) turned in a solid start, despite taking the loss. He allowed just two earned runs and struck out six in 5 1/3 innings.
Relievers Trey Mackwood (Calgary, Alta.) and Alex Oliver (Colorado State University-Pueblo) each threw a clean inning of relief to keep the Dawgs within striking distance.
Offensively, Barry Eiseman (Reinhardt University) was one of the few bright spots, reaching base twice. Steven Elsner (Bellevue University) had an RBI for the Dawgs, while going 1-for-3.
The Dawgs will now head to Brooks to play the Bombers on Tuesday.
