Dawgs' season ends with loss to Gulls

The Okotoks Dawgs’ season ended on Monday night with an 8-4 loss to the Sylvan Lake Gulls in the second game of the best-of-three WCBL West Division Finals.

Offensively, Logan Grant (Calgary, Alta.), went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Dawgs, while Nash Crowell (Yarmouth, N.S.) was 3-for-4 with an RBI.

Zane Skansi (Campbellsville University) also added two hits for the Dawgs.

On the mound, Jace Wessels (Bellevue University) was the Dawgs’ most effective pitcher, striking out three in three scoreless innings in relief.

The Gulls will now face the winner of the East Division finals - either the Saskatoon Berries or Regina Red Sox - for the WCBL championship.
