Game 1
On Wednesday, the Okotoks Dawgs won the first half of their doubleheader against the Lethbridge Bulls, 5-2 in front of 4,523 loyal Dawgs fans at Seaman Stadium.
The Dawgs’ bats were led by Jordan Kievman, who went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs.
Turner Zdunich (High River, Alta.) also went 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Connor Crowson (Okotoks, Alta.) and Bryant Starr also added two hits each.
On the mound, Lincoln Berg pitched two scoreless innings and Wyatt Sadleir (Calgary, Alta.) tossed a scoreless sixth.
Brody Burnette came in to close out the contest, striking out two in a scoreless inning.
Game 2
The Dawgs completed their doubleheader sweep by defeating the Bulls 8-5 in front of 5,366 fans at Seaman Stadium in their second game on Wednesday.
Nash Crowell (Yarmouth, N.S.) led the Dawgs’ offence, going 3-for-4 with a solo home run.
Cal Gates went 2-for-3 with a walk, while Lachlan Maude (Toronto, Ont.) also collected two hits.
On the mound, the Dawgs pitching was led by a stellar start from Evan Lehnert. He fanned six batters and allowed just one run in six innings.
Reid Madriaga later entered the game to record a four-out save. He struck out the side in the ninth.
With the win, the Dawgs improved to 34-12 on the year.
The Dawgs continue their homestand against the Sylvan Lake Gulls on Thursday. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
