Okotoks, Alta. – Right fielder Aidan Dougherty hit for the cycle to lead the Okotoks Dawgs to a 14-3 road victory over the Fort McMurray Giants on Friday.

Dougherty actually hit for the rare natural cycle, recording a single, double, triple and a home run in succession. He finished the game 4-for-5 with five RBIs, including a three-run home run.

Connor Crowson (Okotoks, Alta.) was another big contributor for the Dawgs, going 3-for-5 with a walk, three runs and a solo home run.

Jack Lussier (Okotoks, Alta.) also homered for the Dawgs, while Jayden Lusk went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBIs and a walk.

On the mound, Lincoln Berg started for the Dawgs and allowed two runs in 1 2/3 innings in his debut.

The bullpen once again came in and slammed the door on the Giants. Tonight it was Evan Lehnert, Brody Burnette, Jordan Kievman and Nolan Jackson (Grimsby, Ont.) who entered and allowed just one run over six combined innings, striking out five.

With the win, the Dawgs improved to 19-6 on the year.

The Dawgs continue their road trip on Saturday night against the Giants. Their next home game is on Canada Day against the Sylvan Lake Gulls. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
