Team Saskatchewan captured the 2025 Canadian senior championship bronze medal in an all Saskatchewan battle.

After a 6-2 loss to a very tough Team Quebec, Team Sask bounced back a few hours later with a 13-3 mercy shortened win over the host Regina Trappers in an excellent showcase of the youth and talent the province has coming up the pipeline.

The Trappers struck first in this one as they put up single runs in both the second and third innings to grab an early 2-0 lead. That would be the high point for them on this day though as Team Saskatchewan scored a whopping 10 runs in the bottom half of the third to take a 10-2 lead. They grabbed two more in the bottom of the fourth to extend that lead.

The Trappers answered with one in the fifth but Saskatchewan scored a single run in the sixth to end the game via the mercy rule.

Dylan Solie, who plays for the Regina Rockies in the Qu’Appelle Valley League in Southern Saskatchewan, got the start and delivered a complete game gem, tossing six innings allowing three runs -- two earned -- on six hits. He walked none and fanned three to collect the bronze medal clinching win.

Zane Pollon started for the Trappers and took the loss going 2 1/3 innings allowing six runs -- three earned -- on five hits while walking three and striking out two. Cole Paquin and Takao Cookson also saw some time on the mound.

At the plate, Team Saskatchewan’s 15-hit attack was led by Lucas Geisler, 19, who was 3-for-3 with a triple, a walk, two runs scored and an RBI. Solie helped his own cause, going 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and four RBIs while Devon Farrell was 1-for-2 with a walk, a pair of runs and two RBIs.

Dylan Edmands was the only Trapper with more than one hit going 2-for-3 while Nolan Bracken and Griffin Keller each had an RBI for Regina.
